So lovely! The innkeeper stayed up late for us and really shows interest. The rooms have just the right amount of old. The ambiance is perfect. The breakfastroom was so lovely, breakfast was good, liked the local 'Firesausage'. Real cheap given the location. It could do with a thorough cleaning, spiderwebs, limescale and dust. Parking outside the citywalls. Will come... More

Gasthaus Raidel was a delight during our three night stay. Herr Raidel was a perfect host, assisting us with parking and providing a lovely start to each morning with a nice breakfast and the best coffee we found on our drive through Germany. Ours was a triple room at the front of the building which was quite spacious with delightfully... More

Very inexpensive and perfect location! We felt so welcome and comfortable here. Wish we could have planned a longer stay but we will definitely go back and highly recommend staying here. Very quiet and clean!

My wife and I went to Rothenberg and stayed at the gasthaus Raidel, we both thought that it was a very nice place to stay. It was about a block off the Main Street and very accessible to the Main Street,it was a quiet place to stay and the breakfast was very filling. When we visit Bavaria again we will... More

We stayed 2 nights as a family of four in December. The historical house is very charming and comfortable and the service is amazing. It's location is perfect - the market square, criminal justice museum etc. are barely 5 min walking distance away. Herr Raidel greets everyone like a friend and will happily answer all your questions in regards to... More

Rothenburg is a must see destination when traveling in Bavaria. Lodging accommodations can be hard to find and expensive, especially around high tourist times. This happened to us recently, but we were able to book a couple of rooms at the Guesthouse Raidel. It's not elegant, it's a little funky and kinda spooky but it was very comfortable and the... More

If you're looking for an ultra-modern, boutique experience in Rothenburg, you won't find it here. What you will find is a terrific old home that was converted into a hotel some years back, with comfortable beds and lots of Bavarian kitsch on the walls. Additionally, Norbert, the owner, was an exceedingly warm and welcoming presence. He even gave us some... More

When we arrived in the land of Rothenberg, we were completely memorized by the sheer beauty of the this medieval marvel of what stands for Old Germany. Germany has so many beautiful preserved cities but this is a gem to embrace. As soon as we got off the train we met a wonderful couple who lived in Rothenberg and they... More

This unique hotel in the heart of Rothenberg was very charming. We were the only guests at the time of our visit, and we were taken care of splendly! Had a amazing, fresh breakfast waiting for us after we had our early morning walk. Simply magical.

A economical gem inside Rothenburg. 50 yds from main street, but quiet, especially at night. Bldg dates back at least 600 years and is owned/managed by Norri, who bought the place back in 1961 and did all the interior woodworking himself to bring the place up to current state. Rooms are clean and neat; most with en-suite bathrooms; simply furnished.... More
