Nice place to stay when you want to see all the historical places of Augsburg – you can get everywhere by foot, but the hotel is far enough from the centre to be not expensive. Our room was freshly repaired in Scandinavian style – everything was enough simple, protestant strict, extremely clean and new. Reception was very friendly and cute. It would be nice to have a kettle in the room.
The Hotel Fischertor is a very good base to explore pretty Augsburg. It is well within walking distance of the centre and there is a good range of cafes and restaurants nearby. It is a modest hotel without pretentions to be 'top of the range' but it is perfectly comfortable and is good value for money. The staff are all also delightful and friendly. Our room was fine and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the small bathroom was adequate for our needs. They could, perhaps, provide more than three wire coat hangers for two people and hooks for hanging dressings gowns etc. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts which helped to set us up for the day, and in the evening we had a meal a couple of times in the nearby beer garden recommended by the hotel, which served wholesome and tasty German food with good beer. While in Augsburg we got on the local trains and visited Ulm (worth it for the view from the top of the cathedral spire) and Landsberg am Lech (a very picturesque and unspoilt walled town), both about an hour away. All in all, we were very happy with the Fischertor and would stay there again if we return to Augsburg.…
I stayed at this hôtel 4 night because i didnt find another one The hôtel is globally coming from the very far path The room was dirty and very bad strains on mattress Cleaness might have been made in 5 min each day The reception doesnt exist Dont book at this hotel
It was our first visit to Augsburg and to Fischertor hotel. The hotel's location is at a walking distance from the center and the important places to see in the city. We arrived much before the check-in time and were immediately offered a room. Nice room, comfortable bed, very silent neighborhood. The buffet breakfast is very tasty. But the most important thing is the attitude and care for the guests. The owner, Mr. OBLINGER, does every possible thing for the guest to feel good. For the breakfast , Mrs. MOZART is in charge. She takes care for everything and every guest. It is a "spoiling" treatment. One feels at home and not at a hotel. The guest is given the feeling of belonging. This is so important in a foreign place / country. In the summer, there is a "biergarten" - beer garden - a few minutes walking from the hotel. They serve there except very good beer, schnitzel, roast pork, salads and deserts. The place belongs to the hotel's owner. The service, the food, the atmosphere are great. Most recommended !…
I`ve stayed there for 3 nights. Hotel is rather good, with little rooms and dimly lights (it was not comfortable to read in the evening), clean bathroom and with plain breakfasts. There were no complaints, but I`d rather not stay here in the next visit.
