An amazing hotel with clean rooms and all basic amenities and breakfast at an affordable price. Really worth it if you are the type of person going around the city every day sightseeing and want to come back to a nice bed, have a shower and have a breakfast next day.
Small friendly hotel located on a very quiet side street just a 10 min walk to the main market. Dropped our cases off when we arrived so we’re free to go and explore straight away. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable for tourist tips. Rooms were small and basic but clean and comfortable and ideal for when you are out all day. I agree with some comments about them being warm but opening the window had immediate effect and due to being tucked away noise wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was buffet and only €10 PP which I thought was very good. If you just wanted to grab a coffee to go it was only€1. Munich was lovely and I would stay here again due to its location
We stayed at the Boutique Hotel Falkenturm twice during our recent visit to Munich. The was just minutes away from the restaurants, sights and activities we wanted to visit, including Marienplatz and the Christkindlmarkt. Our room, though smallish, was comfortable, quiet and clean. It even has an elevator. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. We paid to have the morning breakfast, a good choice, as the food was fresh and plentiful, typical of the fare I've had elsewhere in Europe. I recommend Hotel Falkenturm for those who prefer a quiet and friendly place that is close to the center of Munich.
The front desk employees where nice. Lobby not great. Our floor (2) hall carpet all bleached stained, and heavy scent of perfume. Bed comfortable, linens ok. Hot water machine; only old tea packages. Carpet; old not very clean. Bathroom; Tile in shower falling off, someone trying to repair the grout and got it all over the tiles. The tub was full of hair! floor in bathroom was dirty the toilet was just OK. Bathroom sink; old but OK I rinsed down the tub and took my shower ...when I grabbed for the towel to wipe my face it left someone’s gray pubic hair on me and when I pulled the tower way I realized the towel is also full of toothpaste !!! I almost vomited!! so as per the the sign.. “towels on the floor will be replaced, towels hung up will be left for another use” so I left that dirty towel on the floor under the sink. that afternoon after housekeeping came in, I go to use a towel, it’s the same exact towel! They actually took the towel that was on the floor with pubic hair and toothpaste that I left on the floor under the sink next to the toilet they folded it and hung it back up!!! I went down to the front desk where the receptionist gave me two white towels and what she thought were two more towels they were floor mats ! We could not get out of that hotel fast enough! 09/28/2019…
Normally, I do not write a long review, in which case, I actually think I'm doing a good deed so others do not feel the same way. In no case recommendable. I wish I had known before what to expect. My wife and I had planned to have a nice weekend with Staatsballett in Munich. The ballet and everything except this place was great. This hotel does not deserve the title "Hotel". The first impression was the cleaning cloth hanging in the room over the doorknob, could even have been a good sign. The room was so small that you could not pass each other, let alone open the suitcase on the floor because nowhere else a storage available. The curtain partly hung down in front of the tiny window. In the bathroom on the floor a big crack, the light bulb (no socket) knotted together with cable so that it does not hang in the face. Next to the double bed (as king size declared) the mini bar which immediately served as a dessert. The last renovation was probably in the 70s, but of course I can not say for sure. Nevertheless, it is an impudence to call such a drop-off as a boutique hotel. Now to the mattresses. The bed was about 180cm long, I 192cm. Unfortunately, the saggy mattress was shorter than the bed. As a result, the clumped pillow fell into a hollow at the head. We could not wait to leave this hostel. A nightmare…
There is a lovely youngish guy who works his and was the most helpful and friendly out of all of them so thank you. I picked this hotel based on location and it really is in an excellent spot. It is close to old town and great German restaurants and beer halls. It is a little loud but it didn’t bother us unlike some other stays we have had in Europe. Rooms were ok but quite small, they probably need some updating and love.
This hotel may be in a good location in relation to the inner city and the bars but definitely not worth the money you pay. Definitely not a family lodging location. Nothing works and you will be overcharged like we were. The staff promises a lot but delivers nothing.
I stayed just 1 night and needed a hotel close to the office in the center. So this hotel was perfectly located. As a great and pleasant surprise I got an upgrade for the Penthouse apartment with spacious living room, and nice bedroom and bathroom. The only recommendation to the hotel would provide instant coffee in addition to tea bags, the waterboiler is a great addition not soo tipical in German hotels.
Stayed two nights there. Location cannot be better - but pretty much anything else can! Rooms are REALLY small. If you bring more than carry on size luggage you are in trouble. My room faced the street with nightlife noise - no ventilation in the room so you have to keep the window a bit open - which makes your night sleep quite challenged. House cleaning consisted of emptying the bin and removing drinking glasses - but no refill of the (two) teabags (no coffee..) no new glasses - and bed was not made either. On top of that the price of the room was around 200 eur/night. Really not worth that price.
I stayed in Munich ~9 days just before OctoberFest for a conference. The location is great (very close to Marienplatz), the desk staff friendly, but the rooms are a bit small (for north-american standards). The reasons for my low rating are the following: 1) On my first day I informed the staff that the shower head wouldn't stay in place (unless I really wanted to only showed my crotch). I kindly asked them to get it fixed, and found a "temporary" solution by using some floss to keep the shower head from sliding down. Almost ten days later, and the shower head is still kept up by my floss-solution. 2) I left the hotel on Saturday, and the following monday I noticed I had left 4/5 of my favorite t-shirts in the closet (there is no chance they would be anywhere else, and I recall putting them in there, but not taking them out). I called the hotel, and they kindly stated the room closet was empty. I am sure the concierge correctly reported the information, but the only conclusions is that the cleaning stuff simply threw my clothes in the garbage... some of my favorite shirts. THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH. Is this enough for a 1/5? Having paid euros 1.200 for the say, I think so.…
