While not being able to go the Munich Christkindlmarkt was a bit of a disappointment, our stay at the Schiller5 Hotel was not. This is our second time staying here and it was just as nice and comfortable as the first. We arrived early and were very happy to see the owner, Herr Milchkiker. In his 90s, but looks 79 ;-), he still greets guests almost every morning during the breakfast time. Before our arrival, we had been corresponding with Sebastian Sebald about questions/concerns and he always responded promptly :-) . Check-in went smoothly and, even though we were early (10sh), our room was available. The hotel was following all the safety protocol related to COVID and we felt very safe with everything they were doing. Breakfast buffet was open, plentiful, and delicious. Having a coin-operated washer and dryer in the basement for guests is another useful amenity for us during our 10 night stay. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay and once again we felt part of the family. The central location of the Schiller 5 to the Munich Hauptbahnhof and public transportation (S-bahn/U-bahn) makes it very convenient for getting around Munich and to the airport. Hope to visit again real soon.

Nice and modern little hotel very centrally located near the Munich central station. The room I had was spacious and was equiped with a kitchenette. Breakfast was very good except you had to ask the waiters for an extra cup of coffee. Staff was helpful.

We had a good stay in a cute, modern, immaculately clean room. The street the hotel is on feels slightly dicey but the location is great - we easily walked to all the sites we wanted to see in Munich. My only caution to offer is the parking. We do not usually have a car in European cities, so the parking may be completely typical. But, we paid 19 euros a night to squeeze a car into an elevator and then navigate about 10 tiny parking spots in a tiny garage. It was quite stressful, but again this could be par for the course. Otherwise, I highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a clean, cozy, modern hotel super close to the heart of Munich.

Enjoyed this hotel a lot. Couple blocks from central old town. Rooms newly appointed and breakfast was great. Hotel staff gets 10 for helpfulness and being friendly. Free glass of wine for happy hour each night in the lobby restaurant. Would stay there again.
