Excellent hotel in central Munich area. The rooms are well maintained despite the hotel is old. We got upgraded to a suite due to being accor diamond member. Check in to room was slightly delayed (for half an hour), but it was fine as they compensated us with a drink voucher in the cafe. However, some people might get frustrated for such a fine hotel to not stick with promised standard check in time. Breakfast is excellent with lots of quality varieties. Staff are helpful and always helpful. Overall, I would always recommend this hotel for its location, rooms and staff attitude.
This was a short family trip to Munich (4 days 3 nights). The property is in walking distance to the city center. We booked two connecting rooms. The architecture and facilities incl spa of the hotel are fantastic (combination of an historic building with modern interior). The Sofitel team was amazing, from welcoming us (with personal note in the room, a scavanger hunt for the kids through the hotel) through help with restaurant bookings all the way to departure. Overall a really nice trip and very rare to find such a nice hotel in the city.
Stayed here pre Covid with my entire family (wife and 3 children). The hotel itself is very nice, from the ease of check in, facilities and the rooms. The hotel at the time stocked Hermes bath and shower accessories which was a nice welcome touch, and whilst the rooms were not massive they were very adequate and never felt small. Staff were very attentive and the gym and pool was very welcome after a long stay. The only slight downside is location, being located next to the train station is not noisy but being a train station means there are sometimes unsavoury characters around when walking from the hotel to the nearby sights, with the nearest central sights being 10-15min walk away.
Stay a week at this hotel and the service is excellent. Location is very near to the train station, probably 1 to 2 mins walk away. The hotel also provides pillow selection and there is always a bottle of water and a piece of chocolate everyday. Breakfast spread is considerably good. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will come back to stay again.
We chose this hotel because of its architecture. Heard about it since many years. But the vicinity to the Bahnhof brings along its disadvantages of drunk people right on the next block on our way to the center. Otherwise it is a good hotel, excellent service. Great Shower. If you want to have a window that can actually open, you need to ask for it.
Hotel decor is not quite my taste. I find the colours garish and the room depressing, maybe because the windows face inwards and we had to keep the blinds drawn all the time. Big saving grace - staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. One of the front desk staff (I forgot her name, I only remember she speaks 4 languages and was learning a 5th - Mandarin) was super helpful. I asked for tape to secure my box of wine and she ended up enthusiastically helping me stuff the box with tissue to prevent the bottles from breaking. Really exceptional. Munich is not as crowded as before, probably still trying to recover from the pandemic. Getting pre-departure Covid test done is really easy in Munich.
Outstanding hotel with great location next to the train station. Upgrade too to a bigger suite , thankful for my platinum membership. Gym equipment are in individual rooms , so safe distancing is assured. Staff are great, the bell men are very helpful. Special mention for Laura Hutwohl For going the extra mile to ensure my shopping was delivered to the hotel in time. And Philip Halliday for the different suggestions he given us for places to visit and for food. Will be back soon.
Stayed at Sofitel Munich just before Christmas for two days and it was wonderful. The team is amazing, very professional, friendly and assisting with everything. The rooms were very comfortable, amazing views. The location of the hotel is super, right in the center. Highly recommended hotel! Thank you !
After a night of soul-crushing stay at another nearby hotel, we decided to forfeit our next 2-nights and immediately made a booking online with early check-in at Sofitel Munich Bayerpost. Best decision made. Money well spent is money not wasted. We had a wonderful stay. Every staff member we met, from the front-desk to the housekeeping to the room service were warm, friendly and helpful. The necessary document checks to adhere to the Covid rules were also done so it does give us peace of mind. The room is clean and comfortable with basic amenities like drinking water, electric kettle and hot shower water. The luxury amenities like Nespresso machine, self-cleaning toilet, rain shower are a huge plus. Our room was facing the inner courtyard so there wasn’t any issue with noise. Another plus is that it's conveniently located beside the Central Station, just a 20 mins walk to the old town and plenty of restaurants in the vicinity.…
Absolutely the best city hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Shoutout to the staff from every department, concierge, room service, spa and front desk. I’ve stayed at Sofitels around and I’ve got to say this is the best. Amenities wise, Hermès for bubble bath, diptyque for shampoo and body wash. Bathtub facing tv with speaker for tv in toilet. Beds are comfy, rooms are always turned down for the night making it so pleasant every time we get back from a long day out. Day of check out, I asked for a late checkout. What surprised me was that usually the staff would say, ok we can extend till a certain time, but this staff asked what time is your flight so I can arrange for you. My apologies if I can’t remember all the individual names if not I would surely name the staffs! Thank you, this is the only Sofitel I’d die to be back for!…
