I decided on Hotel Laimer Hof because of the Amazing Number of Repeat Visitors, Location close to Nymphenburg Palace, and a Cute Picture of them in Octoberfest Costumes. Sadly we never got to see their costumes, but they made up for it with their bubbly personalities, helping us to get a taxi for dinner date, explaining how to enter the Palace through the side building (we could see the Royal Sleighs & Carriages & the Porcelain Museum before the crowds arrived), delivering our tickets to Residenz Concert before we could ask, even helping us to pay for a parking ticket we had gotten in Nuremberg! Clean & Comfortable with Excellent Breakfasts! But their outgoing personalities will definitely be remembered. Thank you! Actually, we stayed in Dec. 2019, but good memories last. And after Covid19 is over, if you still want to see Tokyo, let's talk about house exchange again...

We had a lovely 4 night stay here and I would highly recommend this hotel. I last stayed here in 2014 and it is still as good. I’ve been to Munich 6 times and this is my favourite place to stay. We had a tower room which was large and airy, and my teenager was glad as his bed was in an alcove which gave him some privacy. We had prepaid for breakfast and due to Covid-19 restrictions, we instead received a generous packed lunch each day which was handy for a picnic. Jan at reception was very friendly and also helped us to carry heavy luggage to the room. My husband enjoyed the coffee each morning too. It’s a 10 minute walk to the S-Bahn (the tram is closer but the routes to the city centre are currently not running due to roadworks). The neighbourhood is nice and quiet, with several supermarkets close by and some great restaurants. The Indian restaurant on the same street as the hotel was particularly good.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Sebastian, he was warm, friendly and informative. The Nymphenburg Palace is just a short stroll from the hotel and worth a visit or even just a picnic in the grounds. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the SBahn to take you into the old town, there are several restaurants nearby and a huge beer garden which is worth a visit. The Covid19 pandemic was just beginning to take a hold, Sebastian and Alexandra were getting lots of cancelled booking which were going to have a huge impact on their business, this didn't stop them providing a first class service to their guests.

Dear Suzie, thank you for your lovely review. It is wonderful to hear that you liked our small and authentic family-run Bavarian hotel as well as our good service and friendly staff. We are happy we made your stay nice and convenient. Your positive review gives us new and extra energy (thank you so much!) as at the moment the actual situation with the Covid19 pandemic is extremely difficult for our small family-run business as we are only leasing the hotel and do not own it. But as you nicely wrote this will not stop us providing a first class service to our guests. Alexandra and myself love this job more than everything else and we are just happy to run this hotel in a nice, unique and very safe residential neighborhood. We will make sure to manage this family-run hotel with genuine Bavarian hospitality and service (just with love and passion) for many more years. Our hotel is indeed supposed to be a home away from home for our many travellers from all over the world like you. We are looking forward to the pleasure of welcoming you again soon and to provide you with another memorable stay. You will always find the best available rates on our hotel-own homepage and you will also get a free drink at our bar. We thank you for your recommendation and hope that we may welcome you again when you travel to Munich next time. We wish you a nice week, stay healthy! Best regards from sunny Munich and Nymphenburg Palace, Alexandra and Sebastian with the entire Hotel Laimer Hof team.

We were a family of 13 people spending 2 nights in München on our way to Austria. All rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and good breakfast. Best of all was the service, you can feel that the staff is doing everything in their power to help and make the stay enjoyable. Thank you Sebastian and the others.

This was our 3rd visit to Laimer Hof and in the 4 years since we last visited found that nothing had really changed other than for the better. Its easily our favourite hotel in Munich and reading other reviews seems like others feel similarly. There is still the same genuine welcome and more importantly the same excellent service and attention to their guests. Sebastian and Alexandra and staff are the friendliest people and nothing is ever too much trouble. We sort of know our way around Munich well but we saw them giving help and advice on places to visit and transport to others (they can supply MVV tickets if required at reception). Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and clean and although we had a room on the top floor, we enjoyed the exercise up the stairs. We have always loved the relaxed breakfast room and good choice of items. Interestingly whilst we were staying, they were replacing the restaurant floor and we had breakfast very intimately in the lounge area for a couple of days but they managed to cope with this and carried on with the same level of service. Whilst some may prefer noisy and impersonal city centre accommodation, we love the area at Laimer Hof. It’s a peaceful residential neighbourhood with an added bonus of Nymphenburg parkland a three-minute walk away through a side gate. No place has better transport than Munich and you can get to the central areas quickly and efficiently including the main station on very frequent trams 16 and 17 a five-minute walk away. The trams also go directly to the back of the Viktualienmarkt and close to the Marienplatz. Five minutes further walk takes you to the S Bahn at Laim with direct S1 link to the airport. In addition, there are some excellent restaurants within easy walking distance including a lovely Italian about 100 metres away and a good supermarket opposite the tram stop. Oh and the hotel is also great value. Sadly, as we were leaving the first cases of the Coronavirus were being reported in Germany and little did we know at the time how quickly and fiercely it would spread. Unfortunately, the hotel like most establishments in the tourist industry have been hit hard by cancellations. We desperately hope the family can get through the coming months and this super hotel can survive and re-establish itself in the better days ahead. We really look forward to our next visit as soon as we hopefully can.

It is wonderful to hear that we are your favourite hotel in Munich and that you enjoyed an another fantastic stay in our charming and safe neighborhood (your 3rd visit, thank you so much!) just next to the Nymphenburg Palace. Our world is meanwhile very hectic but we try to keep the friendly and personal service (yes, every client should be welcomed like best friends!) and take as much time every clients needs to feel comfortable and enjoy his stay in lovely Munich. Thank you also for supporting our small family-run hotel business those days during the Covid19 Pandemic. Indeed it did hit us hard by cancellations but we are still full of energy and fighting this situation. We just enjoy what we do and we love sharing our daily happiness and those positive emotions with our team and our clients. Just be happy and make the best of every day, there is nothing else you can do those days! The future will be good again and this unique situation brings us all together.
