This is a very comfortable well run hotel in a great location in Munich with the u-bahn and a tram on the doorstep and cafes and restaurants nearby. The cleanliness and concern for covid precautions were exemplary. The staff were very helpful. Because of the current situation they are not offering a buffet breakfast but they are providing complimentary coffee, a sandwich and a croissant or you could have breakfast in a local cafe. A really good base for a stay in Munich
I stayed here on recommendation from a colleague. I must admit that it was a trade fair week in Munich, so I was glad of the recommendation. The hotel staff were very friendly, but the desk in the hotel room was so small that I had to clear things off to have enough room for my laptop. Most disappointing was the breakfast, which cost EUR 16.00 extra and an additional EUR 3.50 if I wanted a boiled egg! Compared what I am used to in terms of breakfast being included in the room price, I would suggest that travellers go out and enjoy a breakfast at one of the many coffee places close by. Overall though, a well located boutique hotel in Munich.
We arrived after a very long flight from Australia. We travel a lot and have never experienced such helpful attentive service . We pulled up in front of the hotel and was immediately greeted on the footpath. We had assistance with our bags and check in. We were then given advice were to park the car ( on street parking around the corner) . We were upgraded to a lovely suite. The little books on our pillow were a nice treat as was the treats of sweets . The front desk could not be more helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable with a nice comfortable bed. Good location for walking and exploring the old city. When it was time to depart they stored our bags for us . Overall a lovely welcome to Germany
We had a free upgrade to a suite. The suite was furnished with beautiful antiques and very spacious. The waterfall shower was brilliant in the mornings. The breakfast was good and the staff were pleasant also. The complementary muffins, sweets, water and guide book were also a nice touch. The toiletries were good quality. The hotel is 20 mins walk from the centre and there’s a tube station around the corner, so the location is excellent. I would certainly stay again, if I was ever in Munich.
first of all it is not a hotel as we expect with a lobby , but it is an old building with an entrance and the library or living room and guest rooms are classically decorated perfectly beautiful. our suit was amazing and i loved the objects ,arts , bed ,... Breakfast was vey good in beautiful dishes and arrangements
The Splendid Dollmann has every bit as much character as its name. Our rooms (two singles) weren't huge, but they were very comfortable, and you get a free book to welcome you (in my case, a guide to Munich). The reception staff were extremely helpful and very warm and friendly. There's a lovely little library bar in which to chill out at the end of the day. It's about 10 minutes walk to the entrance to the Englischer Garten, and maybe 20 to Marienplatz in the centre; it's also close to S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations. I'd certainly stay there again.
It is nice boutique hotel with excellent design, big comfortable room as well as the bed, great staff, tasty breakfast, cenrally located, we did not use our car or any other transport, liked it very much, would recommend it to others @ certainly will come back
A lovely, peaceful room overlooking the garden - I've rarely slept so well in a hotel. The staff at reception/breakfast were kind and very helpful - and the garden was lovely and very welcome on a warm evening. The location is also good - close t Haus der Kunst and the ethnographic museum, for example, as well as to the fantastic photo shows at the Bayerische Versicherungskammer (currently Saul Leiter till September - a must-see) - with charming restaurants nearby. Only one tiny quibble - great breakfast but the espresso was awful - watery and devoid of caffeine, which seems such a shame when everything else was so spot-on.
Hotel Splendid-Dollmann is well-located, steps away from the Lehel U-Bahn station which provides easy access to the airport (with one change on the S8 at Munchen Ost) and direct access to the main train station (Munchen HBF). It's also an easy walk to the main sights (Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Englischer Garten are all about 15-20 minutes away) and Maximilianstrasse (the luxury shopping street) is literally just down a few steps and around the corner). I stayed in a comfort double room facing the main street, but there was very minimal, if any, noticeable noise from the street. The room was nicely decorated, adequately sized by European standards, well-equipped with decent wardrobe storage and well-placed electrical outlets, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also well-appointed with a rainfall shower and body jet combo (although I wasn't quite sure how to adjust the water temperature as the water pressure only seemed to stay strong with hot water). The Wi-Fi network was strong and I didn't experience any connection issues at all during my stay, which is always a plus! As my room didn't include breakfast, my interactions with staff were minimal, but they were always pleasant and helpful when needed. The only negative aspect of my stay was the lack of air conditioning. The hotel had already put two oscillating floor fans in my room before I arrived, which appreciated, but the room was still quite warm (the outside temperature was around mid to high 20s (Celsius) during my stay). Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Splendid-Dollmann and would certainly consider staying here again the next time I visit Munich!…
An elegant hotel with antique furniture and chandeliers. You have to keep checking that it's 'only' 3 star. Large room, very comfy bed, lots of freebie in the room (biscuits, marshmallows, water, apples), super speedy wifi. My only gripes were that the wifi isn't secure (I kept getting logged out of things and didn't want to log back in as not secure but there is a tethered computer in the library/lounge that you can use). And the lack of air con. We were there when it was warm (mid to high 20s) and the room faced due east and got hot and stuffy. There are two fans but they just stir the air in the room. They don't cool. The windows opened onto the street which was remarkably quiet but there are trams. We live near a main road with trams so the noise was familiar to us, but might be a pain for a light sleeper. Would we stay here again? Probably, but not in the height of summer. Maybe a room on the back would be cooler and less noisy?…
