Great hotel in Munich. We stayed one night after dropping a family member at Munich airport. The hotel is out of the way from downtown Munich but in a quiet, nice neighborhood. Not many restaurant options nearby beyond the in-house Marriott restaurant. The front desk didn't notify me during check-in but we discovered that Elite members get evening drinks and food in the main restaurant area. The breakfast was outstanding. So many great options. Service was above average. My daughter really enjoyed the pool. We'll be back.
The Marriott is located in the Schwabing area of Munich. An area that is a combination of residence and business focused, but only 2 blocks from a subway station and about a 10 minute ride to Marienplatz (main shopping and dining area). The room as very nice. Quite large, well equipped and very comfortable, The room even has some US style 110 volt electrical outlets. An excellent breakfast buffet was included. There was no Bonvoy concierge style suite but there was a separate area for Bonvoy elite members that included Hors D'oeuvres, wine and beer as well as desserts. There is also a "pub" like facility that is part of the hotel. Christian on the front desk was excellent. Friendly and very helpful in helping us navigate the area and the city a well as local dining options. He told us about a monthly Euro-Ticket that was available for only 9 Euro that allowed us to utilize all of the various transportation options for the entire time we were there. It even covered the fare for the Lufthansa airport bus. An overall great stay and we would definitely stay here again.…
Love the breakfast buffet! The location was in a residential area so you don’t get any big city traffic noise. The nearest bus stop was only about a 7 minute walk and from there it’s a short ride to Marienplatz or the Munich Train Station. Taxis were readily available by the entrance. The front desk staff provided great customer service and were helpful with my tourist related questions. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a nice terrace area where you can eat/drink/relax on a nice day. Overall this is a top notch hotel.
Overall stay very good. Staff is always friendly and ready to help in every department. Beds super comfortable as per Marriott standard. Good breakfast with great omelettes. Good selection of alternative milk. Food in Champions Bar was average. Toiletries branded ‘This Works’ didn’t work for me at all. Smell was overpowering and far too masculine for me. Others in the family agreed too. The normal toiletries are far better. Excellent location close to Ubahn and 15 mins to Marienplatz.
Loved the breakfast buffet and f&b staff is amazing!! Had a great experience during the check-in but a couple of receptionists had a bit of an attitude when we had some minor inquiries, thus the 4 stars. We liked that there was one charging station for E-vehicles…Overall we had a good time!
This hotel does not have an extremely lovely exterior and the neighborhood is more business oriented, but the rooms are very high value for money and staff is very friendly. Breakfast is also very well selected and hygienic. I would go here again for a business trip to this part of Munich. If you want to visit the center I would find something closer by.
Stayed for one night. Got warmly welcomed during check in. Room was comfy and spacious - nice bathroom and well equipped. Though, it was quite noisy on the floor at night. Overall, I am satisfied and probably will book in again. Extra points for hand sanitizers literally everywhere in the hotel
Left another Hotel, warmly welcomed at Marriott. Good appreciation of the guests, friendly attitude of staff. Rooms comfortable, nice gym and pool. Champions Bar open; nice outside area. Waiting time for staff a bit long, food good (could be improved). Unfortunately, no biz lounge. Assuming, was closed due to COVID rules. Good hygiene measures and concept. Will return once visiting Munich
We had an executive room, yes there was a lot of space, sadly just empty and not properly designed the bathroom was extremely small, you spread your arms, that was how wide it was!!! the closet was tiny as well right behind the door to the room could only accommodate four hangers! That is all the storage space they had!!! How can this executive room accommodate a family of four I don’t know. The rest of the space had the two twin beds, sofa and desk with chair and two tiny windows. Too much unused space that could have been used to expand on the toilet and increase closet size. Location is way far out, U bahn is a 10 minute walk though. Nothing around if you want to dine or lunch. Breakfast spread was ok, disappointing for the such a brand as Marriott though. We spent 6 days seeing the same bakery items, 3 types of breads, rolls, pretzel and toast plus some sad looking sweet rolls. Fruit selection was poor, everyday it was cut up oranges, pineapples and watermelon. There was an egg station which was a relief as you could get all types of eggs. They also had warm food such as vegetables and one type of sausage. I wouldn’t stay here again.…
I stayed at this hotel while I was on a business trip in Munich. It was very nice and the room was great. The hotel breakfast was nice but a little expensive. The hotel staff were very attentive and really nice. I would stay here on my next visit.
