I returned to Hotel Lux for the first time after some Covid cancelled trips. Very centrally located. Bar/restaurant on ground level which is also the location of check-in and breakfast. Good service. Marienplatz and it's Bahn station s only a few hundred meters away. Hofbräuhaus is closer. Many good dining opportunities in the area (and dining at the hotel is an easy option for good food) If you're not willing to walk up some steps, you won't like it here. If you have your windows open and overlook the street, you will get some street noise, it is in a busy area.
What to do when one of the hofel staff uses no mask im covid period? Not safe . Also the treatment to clients has been not the best, By one of the crew members, withou t ant teason but its own mood. No lift is also one reasons i will not consider the hotel.
Do be warned that there are quite a few stairs and there is no lift. We stayed on the 4th floor and managed just fine, even taking luggage up. Check in inside the bar; staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is also served in the bar in the mornings, free of charge. The bar gets very popular in the evenings; great atmosphere and the bartenders were super nice and pleasant, very attentive. Drinks were amazing...recommend the Munich Mule for sure. The location doesn’t get any better...less than 5 minute walk to just about anything (Hofbrauhaus, Marienplatz, train stop, food, drinks, etc). Overall, 5-star service with good price for an average room. We would stay here again!
This Hotel is located in a great place. Lots of Restaurants, Bars and Marienplatz close by. The staff are friendly enough and not too expensive. I made the mistake of not reading the website info closely enough before the booking but this hotel DOES NOT have a lift. You could be lugging heavy bags and trudging up and down a narrow spiral staircase as high as 5 floors to get to your room. There is a basic breakfast included but does not start until 8.30am on weekends which is too late for a hotel.
This hotel is perfectly located. Five minutes walk or less to hofbrauhaus, marienplatz, the market & countless restaurants. The staff is polite, but less than helpful. When we arrived, the woman working wouldn’t give us parking suggestions. Rooms were very clean. If you stay here, request not to be above the bar. We stayed in one of the rooms directly above the bar & it was LOUD, all night. Started around ten & didn’t quiet down until after two. And that was during the week. It’s so loud that they actually provide ear plugs in the room. We wouldn’t stay again because of this.
Last night me and my GF went for a drink. We saw everyone seated and saw one free table for two. As it was busy and there was no one to greet us, we sat in that table. After we took off our jackets and got comfy, one of the bartenders came to our table with a smile in his face (I thought he would bring the menu or wanted to greet us), but instead he put over the table the sign "Reserved". He did not say anything else. We were in shock. We waited until he came again and asked what the hell was that, and the answer was "if you don't wait to be seated, no table" and then left. That was all. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE if you wish you night not to be spoiled by unfriendly and inneficient staff. Btw, it was our 5th year anniversary
We stayed here last week and it's TA description is perfectly described. It's a small hotel with a small but happily attentive staff. They seem like they are actually glad you are there, which is a rare thing sometimes. There is a nice breakfast too. The bar is great and the bartender is proud of his craft. Perfect location to so much. The street around the corner is teeming with old town life, but not to the point it's a nuisance.
In a super touristy area this bar/restaurant is an oasis. Great ambience, laid back, good cocktails and superb food. The menu has only 3 main offerings each night. At first that was a bit off-putting. But who needs more choices when what's offered is so, so good. The first night I had the risotto and it was special. So full of great flavors. Went back a couple nights later and was in a burger mood, which they happened to have on the menu. Way better than almost every other burger I've had. The ever so thinly sliced and perfectly spiced potatoes were superbly pan fried. Best "fries" ever. Loved this place.
I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is just a few hundred meters from Marienplatz near the Old City Hall. My room was clean and comfortable as I would expect from a small European hotel. Good WiFi, complementary coffee, tea and bottled water in the room. I liked the central location and although I could have taken public transportation I walked to the Oktoberfest grounds in just under 30 minutes.
