It’s a bit quirky, but on a really good way. It’s location is perfect for the Marienplatz and the market square. Choose a room that over looks the square, it’s worth it to watch the world go by. Rooms are clean, tidy and spacious, at least mine was. Staff are great, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Breakfast is excellent and the staff pleasant and very interesting, worth having a natter if time allows. I recommend this as a safe haven in a bustling city, in a wonderful location.
We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful hotel. The rooms are beautifully designed and spacious. Everything was extremely clean in our room which is very important to us. The location is ideal - you can walk to many sites right from the hotel. We did not eat at the hotel but had wonderful breakfast at the market right by the hotel. Front desk staff was very polite and accommodating . Thank you!
We stayed early September 2020 during the pandemic, and everything was done to make us feel safe and protected. We had a lovely room, it's fairly pricey, but it had no chairs, and so if you wanted to relax and read you were forced to sit on the bed. There was room for chairs, so I don't know why there weren't any. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room rate did not include breakfast, so we went out to eat, so I cannot comment on the catering.
I had stayed at Louis Hotel on several occasions for business and loved the location & interior design, so was keen to come back for a weekend with my wife. While I still rate those aspects of the hotel very highly, we were unfortunately quite disappointed by the service during our 3-day stay in June 2020 which was not up to par for a hotel of its standing and price class. This is based on three specific incidents : 1) At breakfast, which was included in our rate, service was very slow (15 minutes before our order was taken) and disorganised (we were asked for our room number on 3 occasions). When asked to swap the complimentary eggs for granola (we don't eat eggs) this was fine on day 1; but on day 2 we were charged €6.50 per person. We asked the waiter to check with his manager whether she could waive this charge but she refused without coming over to our table. We asked reception if they could do anything but again no notice was taken and the charge duly left on our bill without any comment. 2) On Day 2 we ran out of herbal tea bags in our room and asked for them to be re-filled. It took three requests (2 to reception and 1 to cleaning staff) and a whole day for this to finally happen, and staff were not in the slightest apologetic about it. 3) On our check-out day we told reception we would be half an hour late as I unfortunately had to finish a work video call that ended at 12.30 pm. At a few minutes past the hour, staff tried to enter our room without knocking and repeatedly had to be told to wait outside. I then needed another 15 minutes to pack my computer and go downstairs, where we were told off by the reception staff for having overstayed by another 15 minutes. Overall, this hotel still has a lot of things going for it - and perhaps the incidents described above were due to the hotel having just re-opened after being closed for several months, and still getting used to running things slightly differently due to Covid. I would still return to Louis Hotel for a work trip but might look for another hotel if we return to Munich for another holiday.…
The room was spacious and bright. Wood floor, modern furniture, lighting, quality bedding (on the firm side) participated to this refined elegance and coziness. The bathroom was well-equipped with much attention to details, such as floor heating, several hooks and a large towel bar as well as quality toiletry. Likewise, the breakfast was excellent , with a wide choice of vegan/vegetarian buffet in addition to “a la carte” options. Service was professional and friendly. Definitely, one of the most lovely hotels where we have been staying for the past years. We will keep an eye on these design hotels for future trips…
