Check in was prompt and polite. Recognising that I am an IHG platinum member, I was upgraded to an executive room, but it did not have a coffee machine as advertised, this was slightly disappointing as this is the main (albeit minor) advantage of having status at most Holiday Inn hotels Room: the hotel is very new and the rooms are very well designed and comfortable. The air-conditioning is good for a hotel of this class and was able to sustain relatively cool temperatures in the hot summer. The bed is relatively comfortable. In most rooms there is a small desk and a small rectangular sofa. There are coffee and tea making facilities and a mini fridge; there is a bathroom with shower; the water pressure is satisfactory; an iron an ironing board are also offered. Location: the hotel is a 10–15 minute walk from the Berg am Laim station – this is not terribly convenient, nor appreciable in the hot summer– it then takes a further 10–15 minutes by S-Bahn to reach Altstadt-Level, and if that is where you plan to base yourself this hotel has a rather suboptimal location. Alternatively, staying in this part of Munich you may be tempted to explore some of the less-visited areas to the west of the Isar. If you are based around the Messe this hotel may be good for you. The hotel food and dining outlets were not open during my visit. Pricing and verdict: typically 50–80€, there is pretty good value for money in this new, comfortable Holiday Inn with very nicely designed rooms. It takes 20–30 minutes to reach Altstadt-Lehel which is the major drawback.…
Due to the pandemic, the Holiday Inn Express is closed, but we were offered the next-door Holiday Inn at the same price. The hotel is modern and clean. It is in the eastern suburbs of Munich and close to highways. Free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, but parking costs 15 EU/day. Breakfast was generous and good. The garage, as usual in Europe, is too small for large vehicles. There was an inch to spare on both sides, entering and exiting the garage via curved ramps.
Bad experience dealing with this hotel. Booked a room via Agoda in Jan 2020 and the full room fee was charged. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, my flight to Europe had been cancelled by British Airway and a future travel voucher was given. Under this special circumstance, I appealed to request for refund or any compensate voucher to be used in future and was REJECTED. I would say this is a very inconsiderate & unhelpful Hotel that I ever experienced so far. Super disappointed 😔😔😔 [I got no issue with all other hotels except this]
Actually stayed in July of 2019 but couldn't select that. After some confusion between the different Holiday Inns around this particular area we finally found our hotel. Holiday Inn Express right next door so be aware of that. Found this a bit far out from city but train station is a 10 minute walk away so that was fine. From memory I found a couple of staff a little rude but not enough to ruin our stay. Rooms were ok and would recommend this if you don't mind being a bit far out from city at a cheaper rate.
A break in Munich promised much but never really delivered as I'd expected. The hotel was typical in this sense. It was comfrotable bUt lacked personality and atmosphere, modern was the key word here. The breakfast was good, if a little busy at times. The location wasn't good for seein Munich and required a lengthy train journey abit like staying in Dartford for seeing central London. Munich station was also a confusing labyrinth of floors and tunnnels. The pros of the hotel were it was that it was clean and confortable. The cons were it was poorly situated for Munich tourists. Additionally the roof top bar was permamnently closd because of the 'poor weather' even when it was very hot and sunny.
