This is avery good hotel but the experience getting to it from Munich International airport spoilt the experience. It appeared simple enough: jump on the train from the airport, get off at Leuchtenbergering station, which appeared closest to the hotel, and then take a cab to the hotel. Ther hotel doesn't have an airport shuttle as it is about 30 minutes from the airport. The train runs about every 15 minutes. Getting to Leuchtenbergering station was easy. However, this was the worst station that I've ever been in. To get out you have to go under the tracks. Here you are faced with two sets of steep stairs. We were carrying heavy luggage (55lbs) and there was no ramp or elevator. Then, to get up to street leveyou ahve to climb another two sets of steep stairs. Fortunately, we came out on Neumarkter strasse. However, there was no sign of any taxi stand so we had to walk for about 20 minutes wheeling our luggage.…
The rooms are nicely furnished and the bed comfortable. Generally the room was clean, but the carpet was stained heavily. There were also dark spots on the ceiling and the window was broken and could not be opened properly. When I arrived there was a pillow case next to the wash basin that cleaning personnel probably forgot, removed next day. The breakfast was good, it's a fairly limited buffet, with the same things every day, but probably also due to corona. The only warm option were hard boiled eggs. Coffee was very good and corona measures were logical and easy to go by. The entrance of Holiday Inn Express is closed and you have to always use the entrance and reception of the adjacent Holiday Inn which is a lot of walk. For me it basically meant doing close to 100 meters more every time. I wish there would be an option for the guests who already checked in to use the Holiday Inn Express entrance with a keycard for example. There are free parking options on the street where the hotel is, although a bit full at times. All in all I enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend the place. The P/P was unbeatable for this stay.…
First time staying here. This is an "Express" Hotel which is not the same as a normal hotel. The breakfast provided does not have a wide spread of food. It is limited in choice and the room can be quite small to some. There is a sofa bed available for pax of three. The room is clean and it is being cleaned everyday. There are no fridge in the room. As for the price, thought was average but can be expensive during peak season such as June.
Awesome hotel - modern, efficient, clean and comfortable. Great buffet breakfast in the mornings - decent selection of cold meats, eggs, breads/pastries and hot beverages. The service staff in the restaurant area were very helpful and always ensuring the food was replenished and tables cleared quickly as possible. Although the hotel is not centrally located, only 10 minute walk to train/tram station that takes you into the city centre (and a 10 minute trip in). WIFI worked well, the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again as it was great value for money and not too far to get into the central city.
We stayed in this 3-star hotel for 5 nights and the hotel was decent. For the price per night considering how expensive Munich can be, it was quite affordable. After the 2nd night when housekeeping realised we had a baby with us, they made sure to provide extra towels on her sofa bed which was nice. Breakfast was simple but decent. There were cheeses, hams, bread, pastries, and a small pancake machine that churns out small pancakes for you. The nearest train station was about a 10-minute walk. One gripe I had about our room - there was a particular smell coming from the bathroom which we couldn’t pick out what it was. It smelt almost metallic with a twang. We aired the room out generally. Thank god their ventilation was strong so we just kept the bathroom door closed when not in use. I figured maybe it was because it was a new-ish hotel and that was how it smelt. However on our last night the smell was absolutely overpowering and nauseating. After using the shower I was getting ready for bed there was a ‘glug glug’ sound and a huge pong just wafted from the shower drain. It was disgusting. We reported this to reception as we were checking out and the staff member noted it down for housekeeping so I hope it has been sorted out. Other than that it was a decent stay for the price we paid.…
