We really enjoyed the location of this hotel as we could walk from here to Neuschwanstein and Konig schloss, also it was easy to get to excellent (recommended) nearby restaurants, the lakes and the sommerrodelbahn (highly recommended for families). The view onto the meadows, alps and hiking trails were breath taking. The hotel could use some updating of their facilities,...

Finding a reasonably priced hotel in this area is difficult, but we picked this one and would say it is dated, but clean and the owners are very hospitable. Our room was very basic, and could use some new carpet, furniture, and a flat-screen TV, but it had a wireless hotspot and it was just fine. It has a great...

This was a nice, family-run hotel within walking distance of the castle (just a few minutes' walk). The room was light and airy, and very clean. Unlike what a couple of people said, we did not smell manure. It was very quiet and peaceful, and the breakfast was decent, if not huge. I would stay here again.

Despite good ratings and a great location for visiting the castles we were very unimpressed with this hotel. The common areas smelled of stale cigarette smoke and the bathroom of one of our rooms was unusable due to odor. Our greeting was cold and the breakfast was very mediocre at best. I had a problem with the toaster and the...

After staying at this inn I went back to read the previous reviews and cannot believe they are of the same inn. Our bed, see the photo, was extremely uncomfortable. What passed as a sheet was some type of very rough flannel. The pillows were well past their useful life. But the largest disappointment was the inability to sleep due...

I stayed at this hotel in July 2011. The setting is very peaceful, just walking distance within Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles. It is away from the main road, there is no noise around. I stayed at the room in the back of the hotel with views over the montains. Very quite, very clean indeed. The hotel staff is very friendly...

We stayed in several cities on our trip including Prauge, Nuremberg, etc. This was by far the best hotel. Decent breakfast, comfortable rooms with a GREAT view, and friendly service. No air conditioning but the big windows help with the flow of air into the room. The hotel restaurant was fantastic! There was also a food vendor outside that sold...

The good: The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and the castle view from the deck was lovely. Our first night was quiet and peaceful and we slept well. The lady running the hotel was nice. There is a restaurant with decent food downstairs. The bad: Noise and Location. Regarding noise, our bedroom was right over the...

Besides visiting the castles we wanted a relaxing stay to recover from some heavy duty touring - our stay at the Alpenhotel Allgaeu provided just what we needed. It's in a quiet country setting, family run by a mother and daughter, and close enough to the Hohenschwangau village that we walked to it multiple times. The service is great. We...

Me wife and two boys spent one night at this friendly B&B. We were very well wellcomed by Mrs. Ingrid and her staff. The hotel is located just in front of the castles and is very close to Fussen and Schwangau. Highly recommeded!!
