This was the hotel we were assigned for the day of our visit to the Passion Play in Oberammergau. However, I wouldn't recommend it for that purpose, as it is 30 minutes' drive away. Nonetheless, our room was perfectly satisfactory and very roomy. I loved the soft pillows (I needed two). It's a town centre location but very quiet, and convenient for the station. As with many foreign hotels, there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, which is such an essential requisite. For me, no hotel can get 5* which does not include this necessity.
Very enjoyable stay. Myself and a colleague stayed for 1 night in Garmisch. The hotel suited us very well due to location and ease to walk into the town. Parking for a good number of cars behind the hotel Spotlessly clean Very god breakfast and good attentive service received
I was searching for hotels in GaPa and chanced upon this hotel. Tried searching the hotel's website for room prices for my duration of stay, but was unable to choose a room for more than 2 people in the booking engine. Information provided on the website for the Family Room was also vague and not sufficient. As such, I emailed in for price quote on the family room, as well as clarifications on opening hours of reception and whether pre-check-in luggage storage would be possible. Unfortunately I received an absolutely rude 1-sentence response from Mr Christian Küchenmeister, who refused to answer any question and said that answers to all questions can be found on the hotel website. Only after I explained to Mr Küchenmeister that the hotel webpage unfortunately did not allow me to check the room prices, did he provide some answers. This was however soured by his passive-aggressive parting comment that we had "hopefully you’ve found your answers". I have no desire to stay at this hotel, if this is the service and attitude that I am facing as a potential customer with basic clarifications and request for price quotation. I somehow doubt that the customer service on arrival would be any more friendly or helpful.…
Nice place to have lunch, outside on the terrace! Schnitzel with potato salad, a sunny-side-up egg, and a Weizenbier! Food was hot and cooked well. Fair price, fair portions, and a friendly staff! Enjoyed sitting on the terrace under a tree and listening to the birds and looking at the Kramer and the Zugspitz. The only thing missing was my partner!
Did a last minute booking for a single room at this hotel. Even though it say 14 sqm it was more like 8 sqm.. not worth 85 Euros.. no iron facility as advertised.. have stayed at 100s of hotels even at London the room for 45 pound was bigger and better with breakfast.. my first rip off in Germany .. stayed at room 218 which was a quarter of other rooms based on room location pic.. place is clean though, receptionist helpful and parking in front of the hotel was only 5 Euro for 24 hours which was the only highlight.. not recommended
My communication with this hotel was firm that 18.00 was the end of checkin. Unfortunately, my train broke down so I was an hour late. There was no problem checking in. They could improve booking docs. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with a great view. There was an odd smell. Maybe this is why, even though there was snow outside, the window was left open by cleaning staff. I would stay here again (assuming the smell was fixed).
A 3 star hotel with clean rooms, nothing fancy, a minor spa area, ok beds, breakfast that does the job, good location close to central station and ski transport, however the better restaurants are a 10 min walk away.
This hotel is a very good value. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was very good. The staff was helpful and cheerful. I spent three nights at this hotel. It is located near the train station.
We had a delightful stay here recently—our second one this year, and both were nice. This time, we had a balcony room with a view of the mountains. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a mountain wonderland, so if that’s why you are there this hotel is a great choice. We had a view of the mountains from our bed, which we appreciated. We arrived by train, and the station is literally 100 meters from the front door. You are also about 15 minutes away from the foot of some great trails and 200 meters from the Zugspitz railway. As trail runners, this is ideal for us as we can run from the hotel up any number of trails with no need for other transfers. The rooms are nice, but it is fair to stay that the rooms and hotel generally are somewhat old-fashioned: you get a clean and well appointed room, nice service, and a generous breakfast (that included oat, rice, and soy milk as options, which we appreciated). If you want the latest modern style, this won’t be right for you, but to us the quality well matched the rate we paid and the style was a good fit for a mountain holiday. As an aside, I had mistakenly reserved for only one night when we actually needed two, so when we set off in the morning on our day-long trail running adventure we left all our luggage in the room. When we got back, the receptionist was quite amused by my error, and in fact gave us a bit of a deal on the second night which we appreciated. Will we be back? For sure, hopefully in a few months’ time. We’d highly recommend this hotel to any of our friends and family. And, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is for sure an amazing place to spend some time!…
From the check in was fast , coming into the bedroom is satisfied medium size bed and bath room with ca 40 sqm also with big balcony facing to the Bahn Hof station, every thing is clean , just the furniture and interior from old time but country style. General lighting in bed and bathroom remain in dream alias needs improvement. Heater is working well , no airconditioner available which is not needed for this time in Moment with air temperature of around 10 deg C. But breakfast like a king starting with Champagne 🍾, many varieties of bread, coffee, tea, yoghurt, cheese, vegetables, salami, Many kind of eggs and fresh juice of orange with the squeez machine etc. The salon is Beautiful where they served all the breakfast menu, with wooden panelling wall and very Good service too here. One thing Just a pity when wE arrived 20.30 and wanted tO Have warm food they rejected , How ever they state dinner time 18.00-21.30 . As 4 stars hotel I couldn’t understand.…
