We had a good experience at this budget hotel. The rooms were very clean and serviced daily, not to mention very big!! The hotel reception had a distinct cigarette smell about it but you are still allowed to smoke indoors in some places in Germany anyhow which may explain why. Our room itself though was fine. The location was fantastic,...

The room was clean which is the most important and the location is great. Room is equipped with just necessary furniture, cheapest possible. The whole building is the like the cheapest way to adapt the old apartment building in to a hotel. On the checkout day, before I came down, the girl on the front desk already charged the bill...

When we checked in there was a woman as receptionist, she was really unorganised. She was not sure how much we payed and she wasn't sure if our room was cleaned. The breakfast costs 8€, we didn't try but we think it's too expensive. We got our room and it seems like it's a storage room for unused beds? There...

Very disappointing experience as we arrived early in the afternoon with our kids and the hotel was overbooked. It seemed very normal to the receptionist and we had to go to a different hotel. The lobby looked quite bad the location seems great.

The Merit is conveniently located in a pedestrian area of the city centre, about 5 mins walk from the subway. The building exterior is an interesting 19C design but the inside has been completely modernised. With the exception of the stairs, any original internal decorations have been purged with Teutonic efficiency to create a clean and modern if sterile ambiance....

The hotel is very well located, rooms was a big enough and the bathroom is clean. That's it, good for a night stay. As for the service, it's really bad :( The lady at the reception told me that there is no room for me as there was a problem in the system and got overbooked so they reserved for...

Main reason for this hotel choice was location and it is perfect for that. In the heart of the city, close the all the transport connections out of the city and walking distance for shopping, nightlife and whatever else takes your fancy in the centre. Cleaning staff friendly, as were most of the receptionists. Did not try breakfast. Rooms were...

Staff couldn't figure out how to run a credit card so had to pay cash. In kinda a sketchy location & noisy at night. Dirty carpet & smelly fixtures. Big bathtub but only the handheld shower hose worked. Towels where thin & the place was in desperate need of a make over.

This is in the perfect position come out of the hotel turn right and you hit the town or left then right and hit the top of town. Rooms are basic but clean free wifi throughout. No kettle in room so get stocked up with water Breakfast is typical German hams and cheese so for €8.50 go to a cafe...

  • And here is the wonderful colour scheme, showing the odd length of the curtains
  • Weird stain in the room's carpet.
  • I wonder why someone left phone books at the bottom of the wardrobe.
