This hotel is more of a romantic getaway. Gorgeous view. Luxurious rooms. Great breakfast & superb location. There is no elevator though, so it's not suitable if you have luggage or in our case 2 kids 😊 I would recommend it to couples only.

I was stunned at how beautiful this place was. We had the most beautiful room with absolutely stunning views. It was so peaceful and quiet overlooking the river . I opened the windows and just sat and enjoyed the view . We did eventually go out and explore and took the Funicular down to the old town and visited the...

A great location above the town and close to the funicular, when we arrived we commented on the wonderful quiet location ... Unfortunately two out of the three nights we stayed they hosted late night parties. Loud banging music till 0130 hrs.! They seem to make their money from conferences and functions, so you'd expect evening entertainments, but till 0130...

We arrived at the Molkenkur Hotel for the Heidelberg Castle illumination around 12pm. Our room wasn't ready yet, but they recommended we visit Heidelberg Castle. We took the funicular down to the castle (hotel is just steps away from the 3rd shop so the location is great). We got back at 4pm and checked into our room. It was very...

The hotel is on a steep slope of the Königstuhl and so has amazing views over Heidelberg that never disappointed. The hotel is next to the funicular railway down to Heidelberg town centre, which is a great way to travel down to the town centre. You also get a discount on the funicular railway for being a Hotel guest which...

Nestled on the mountain above Heidelberg this beautiful hotel is very comfortable, modernly outfitted and elegant. The view from room 118 is spectacular. Wifi is available only in the lobby but parking is free. The funicular to the castle and city is adjacent to the hotel making the trip into the old city easy and without parking hassles.

Every year we go to Heidelberg and each time we stay at a different hotel. This time it was the Molkenkur as we were attending a ball there. The location of the hotel is just wonderful. High up, in the forested area above the Castle, the view one has is fantastic. It is preferable if one has a car as...

We spent one night in a small but modern, up-to-date, very clean and quiet room. There is no air conditioning, but it is rarely needed there. However, we were visiting during an exceptionally hot day. A small desk fan was provided. The Hotel is a 150year old building, on a mountain side above the Heidelberg castle. It is easily accessible...

Great place to stay, beautiful surroundings close to Castle and cable car to city centre with breathtaking views of city. One of my favourite stops in Germany, loved everything about Hotel Molkenkur and Heidelberg just one wish and that was for an extra day or two. Shopping was great and loved all the buildings. Just needed more time! Staff at...

The Molkenkur hotel was a great find! It is definitely a hidden gem! You do have to drive up the twisty hillside to get there, but the view is superb!! Breakfast was definitely worth it: eggs, waffles, meats and cheeses, pastries and yogurt all with that breathtaking view!! It's not in the old town area, however, the funicular is right...

“Room 18 has a lovely view and room 17 had a balacony door. Definately ask for a room with a town view as there were some rooms overlooking the car park.”
