Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived at the Tannenhof after following the GPS instructions and seeming to go a very long way out of Baden Baden. We arrived at 2.30 and were told our room was not ready. There was also no longer a restaurant at the hotel. This did not give us a great impression to begin with. Perhaps an I'm sorry your room is not ready would have helped a little, perhaps the receptionist just didn't have enough English for that! Anyway we went into Baden Baden- we found a shorter route with the receptionist's help and a map - and got lunch and had a bit of a walk around. Returning to the hotel our room was ready, and quite comfortable. The receptionist was also able to suggest a local restaurant for dinner, and in fact later booked us a table. The next morning ( a Sunday ) there were quite

The staff was excellent and very helpful. They allowed us to check earlier what was very much appreciated after 16 hours of travelling. They helped us with the luggage and lift access to the ground floor. The room was specious and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. The bathroom with shower and bath tub was fantastic.

We booked a Standard double room. The picture attached to this room on the detailed explanation showed a spacious room with two windows. It was clear that this room was on the top floor due to the angle of the ceiling. When checking in, I was given Room number 322, on the top floor where you have to take the elevator to the 2nd floor and then walk up to the 3rd (that was not a problem). When opening the door to the room, we found a small room with one small window. The bed was clearly for one person with only one pillow and one piece of candy laying in the bed. The bathroom was also very small and there was a small closet. When returning to the front desk, I was told that this was a standard room for two as ordered. I pointed out that it was a bed for only one person I was told

I arrived at the Hotel Tannenhof looking forward to a relaxing stay in comfortable surroundings and I was not disappointed. I booked a Superior Comfort room with a balcony and enjoyed uninterrupted views of the Merkur Mountain and the Alte Schloss every day, it was quite breathtaking. The staff were very polite and courteous from start to finish, and this, along with my experiences in other German towns, has totally dispelled any stereotypical ideas I may have held about German people prior to my holiday. Breakfasts were fabulous, a wide variety, and something for everyone, irrespective of taste. Being a typical Brit, even with the wide variety available, I still made sure I got my boiled egg and toast, it's hard to whack! The only negative that I have to report is the heat

Hotel is 15 mins walk from town, not as close as portrayed, in the middle of a TV company, so setting not so quiet. We were in room 315, top floor if you are a man more than 5'10" you will hit your head on the toilet ceiling. One window handle broken, shower head broken. Markos was brilliant tried to help, unfortunately maintenance didn't. No air con, rooms were that hot spent two days sleeping on the floor to keep cool, no fans only one small heater! But bizarre but part of breakfast buffet served in hotel foyer. Baden-Baden lovely would I stay here again, No!

This hotel is fine - very clean and run in a very efficient way. However it should really be noted that it's on a small business estate outside Baden Baden and is a decent 15 min walk downhill to any restaurants and the town, which was especially important as the hotel restaurant was closed when we stayed. The decor is a little old fashioned and there's lots of knick knacks everywhere which may not be to everyone's taste. Our group stayed on the top floor which, as mentioned, was spotlessly clean but the bathrooms (particularly ours) were very small, almost comically so! Our room was steeply slanted so you needed to watch out for your head getting out of bed. Breakfast was decent with a good choice and the staff seemed helpful.

We stayed in this hotel in the end of October. The 'comfort double' room corresponds to all its descriptions, however, the 'queen-sized' bed was not that big as it looks like on the official photos. It is just a normal double bed. But in general, the room is really nice and has a big balcony with quite picturesque view on a mountains nearby. Bathroom is clean, with a modern bathtub and all the necessary toiletries, except slippers. The only thing about the hotel, that can be not so pleasant, is the distance to the city center. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere, so it takes time to reach the places of interest. Moreover, the road goes up and down quite often, so if your legs are not strong enough, the way is not so enjoyable.

This hotel has been completely redone, and I think we were one of the first couples (there were four of us traveling) to visit the hotel. The facilities are fantastic, the rooms extremely comfortable, the views are awesome and inspiring, as we had a room with a terrace where we watched the sunset over Baden-Baden. The staff was extremely helpful, very friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was probably the best that I've had not only in Germany but in much of Europe. I definitely will be coming back soon, and hopefully for a longer stay.

The hotel is small, nice and cosy. The owners are very friendly and ready to help. The breakfast is excellent, with all sorts of food (yogurt, cereals, juices, jams, chocolate, croissants, bread, you name it). There is also a small italian restaurant in the hotel, but it is closed on Sundays and bank holidays (!). The rooms are big enough, clean and luminous. The third floor however has two disadvantages, i.e. no lift and a weak Internet connection (WLAN). There is a PC available in the hall, but the Internet browser basically works really bad. The hotel is a bit far away from the city centre, but if you have a car it takes 5 minutes to get there. Ratio quality/price is very good: we paid 125€ a night including breakfast and we were 3 people.

After strolling through the town of Baden-Baden on a quiet Sunday evening(towns in Europe actually take the time to close their stores for a day of rest, but restaurants are open), we made our way to Hotel Tannenhof which is on a hill on the outskirts of main Baden-Baden. We were greeted with courtesy by the hotel clerk who handled our reservation with ease. Our room was on the first floor(not ground level mind you) and an elevator was available. Entering our room, the decor was simple, the had a roll away for our daughter already made. Every room had their own balcony which looked out to the Black Forest and a chateau was seen from our room as well. It was quiet, serene and since it was a cooler July evening the air was crisp and refreshing. For my daughter and myself, the
