If you were told about Lyon! Ideally located on top of the Roman amphitheatres, at foot steps from the Basilica, the Fourviere Hotel reinvents the old Convent of Visitation built by Bossan in 1854 to make you live a singular hotel experience in Lyon. A prime location at a walking distance of major tourist attractions. The Fournier Hotel won’t disappoint if you know what you’ve signed up for. It is located at the top of a hill overlooking the city, so don’t expect to walk out the front door and have ready access to the “old city”. As well, it’s a fair distance from the airport. That being said, the subway is very close by and an easy ride down to town. In addition, it is walkable to town (about 15 minutes) thought the walk back is a long uphill climb. Taxis are readily available. I enjoyed being away from the fray and loved the ambience of the hotel. As a repurposed monastery the entrance is beautiful and courtyard enchanting for breakfast and casual meals. More formal dinner service is offered inside. In any event, the food is divine and fully lives up to the high standards set by the city of Lyon. Service throughout my stay was exceptional and the staff highly attentive and responsive. The hotel also features a lap pool and small area to sun and relax after a day of sightseeing or before setting out. Rooms are not large or grand, but perfectly comfortable and clean. I highly recommend the hotel for its value, amenities, excellent food and exceptional service.

Some what Walking distance of Old Lyon but feels miles away. Former Monastery with all the grand architecture that goes with it's previous standing. Great outdoor pool and easy walk to roman ruins. Breakfast a bit pricey so i skipped it but other meals looked good.

Amazing location! The part surrounding the hotel is very nice, with fantastic views of Lyon. The service and the rooms very very good, the Spa perfect and the pool did cool you down after a long day in the city. The breakfast was really good, with a lot of cheese, ham and sausages. I really recommend a stay here.
