The staff were overall really helpful and friendly. I appreciated that they spoke English pretty well. The co-ed washrooms seemed kind of sketchy. The "shower" room is literally a showerhead in a small room, which was kind of uncomfortable to use because I'd have to keep on pressing the button constantly or the water would stop running. Other than that...

The staff is not very welcoming. To access the internet wifi is a nightmare because the passwords are not enough and limited, and they are valid for 24 hours. To get a new password the staff is constantly saying that there are not enough passwords because the people take all the time the papers. The kitchen is small and the...

ROOMS: Good sized (only 6 people which was good), there are also 2 basins with mirrors in the room we were in which had its good a bad points...The beds were VERY creeky. BATHROOMS: The showers only went for 5 seconds before needing to push the button again (and again). There was no control of the temperature. Also the floors...

I spent one night here, refused to shower and went the next morning to book a hotel through the tourist bureau. The bedroom itself was comfortable enough. Only 6 people to a room is much nicer than the 20 beds to a room hostel I'd been in in Amsterdam. There seemed to be people of all ages here, which I...

My first hostel 24h desk service (I arrived at 1am) Breathtaking view Friendly environment Terrible breakfast 6 women per dorm which aint very convinient if 5 of them wakes up at 6 am. Try to find another hostel not so far away, because the street is super steep and I bet you can find somenthing better.

The best thing about this youth hostel was the view - absolutely superb. Its located on a hill, so basically if you want to go anywhere you have to walk back up this hill to get back, but its not bad at all. There are great restaurants nearby and everybody is really friendly. The hostel was clean and the breakfast...

I have stayed here for just 1 night but i really really enjoyed it. It's located at the top of Fourvière hill. Many people complain about the walk. yet, the walking is actually just 10 minutes, so it is not as bad as people make it seem. Took the subway and got off at Vieux Lyon, then transferred to the...

I stayed here back in May 2000. Reading the reviews written since then (including those written in French, which I can understand) it seems that little has changed. The situation of the hostel is indeed supeb; the panoramic view of Lyon is excellent, and admiring it from the balcony with a beer is truly sublime. Nevertheless the rest of the...

Stayed there for 3 nights. My only "but" for this youth hostel would be that's it's a bit hard to get to: far away from both the train station and downtown and it's on top of a little hill which you can only get to foot or by taxi. Great if you're a backpacker and are used to carrying your...
