Overwhelming smell of chemical air freshener covering dirty smell beneath. Not a nice place at all. I’d strongly recommend avoiding. I didn’t want to walk on the grubby carpet in my bedroom with bare feet.
Stayed overnight on two occasions on our train journey to Italy ( there and back). Outstandingly friendly staff who really seems to enjoy their work made stopping here a pleasure. The rooms are what you could expect: basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the bar area nice for an evening drink. Great position if you're travelling on the TGV, right opposite Lyon Part Dieu railway station. No frills here, but the staff elevated our stay from functional to really pleasurable.
Stayed overnight 2x, for a train transfer, Near train station "exit Villette" But well isolated with all the road works. Staff is very approachable and helpful. The room is small but clean. Recommended, for a stop over. Since we arrived late, their restaurant is good point. We paid extra for late departure (which is normal) They assured us that they informed already their gouvernante, the following day a"femme de chambre" entered in our room, found it bit akward cause we are still sleeping asking if we are going to leave" But still we recommend this hotel
I had the misfortune to stay at this hotel for one night in May 2022 with my mom. At the arrival the receptionist is very nice, aknowledging the fact that we had already paid for the stay through a deal on booking. As the room was not ready yet, we leave for the city centre and as we come back in the afternoon, two other guys at the reception, barely speaking any English or French, hint that we had to pay for the stay. Somehow we manage to be understood and we only have to pay for the "tax de sejour". Let's speak about the rooms - I understand that this is an extremely basic hotel, but for the price paid one would at least expect a decent room. Well, this is definitely NOT the case. Rooms are tiny - literally. No hooks to hang clothes, no bathroom shelf, leaving the nice option to leave all your toiletries on the floor. The towels are two tiny towels that might be used to dry your mouth (maybe) after cleaning your teeth - hoping that the sink is not clogged and not fixed (as it was four our case, even after having promptly informed the reception). The TV has NO other channels if not French speaking - I understand we're in France, but haven't you heard of satellite? The AC does not refresh this tiny hole, and even in May, we had to sleep with our windows open not to suffocate What else to say if not: save your money and go else where, for that rate you can absolutely get better accomodation…
Nice, convenient and clean room with suitable bathroom. Quick and easy checkin. Near Part-Dieu, therefore perfect for a stay to explore Lyon by foot or public transport. Only a few parking places available.
We stayed for 1 night with the kids, the family rooms are very practical, with adjoining doors that can be locked/closed-off. Clean, all facilities are present. Friendly staff, good breakfast with nice choice. The sanitary pass was not requested before breakfast, which we did not liked. A parking is next to and underneath the hotel, 12 euros per night. This is practical.
Stayed here 1 night enroute through France - this was our second campanile hotel - again not clean enough .. room needs a deep scrub. I took some pictures of the bathroom and room. Had to wipe everything with antiseptic wipes before we could settle.
This hotel lies just minutes from the Lyon main station (Part Dieu). The entrance/lobby is pretty small as are the rooms. You can only expect basic accomodation. I asked for an ironing board and the receptionist told me to fetch it from the reception.
We were stuck when we missed the last train connection to CDG after arriving in Lyon from Grenoble due to worldwide coronavirus lockdowns that had already kept us indoors for the better part of a month. EVERY SINGLE hotel in town was completely closed, except this one. Kamel was extremely helpful, going well beyond the call of duty to ensure that we could make arrangements for ourselves, both while stuck in Lyon, and beyond. He even walked over to the train station to retrieve us when he learned that the next morning’s train we planned to take had also been cancelled. He made delicious fresh pains au chocolat for us and made us extra reservations for once we finally manage to arrive in Paris at CDG airport for our flight back home to USA. It really makes a difference during times like this. Like soldiers, all those who keep working, often at their own peril, to help the rest of us are the true heroes.…
We enjoyed having the bar/restaurant on premises where could get a light meal on a rainy evening. The breakfast was excellent - a very good spread of food and high quality for a reasonable price. The wifi you have to reconnect every time you move, the thiness of the partition walls, (noise), the people from the bar-restaurant. Always discussing between them about internal issues ...
