We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as a city break while traveling by train from London to Cannes. The hotel was clean and relatively recently refurbished. The room was well-sized. In particular, we liked the fact that the toilet was in its own room, separate from the bathroom - which worked well for two people. The decor was...

We used this hotel for a six day city break before Easter. It is readily accesible; take the Rhone Express from the airport to Part Dieu then Tram 1 to Liberte (4 stops) and the hotel is a short distance down a side street. It is close to the left bank of the Rhone, a popular evening area with open-air...

This is an average hotel, good for short stays. Hotel is close to centre. Rooms are clean and modern, but hotel itself looks worn out in some places. Buffet breakfast is good but limited choice and in a very small room.

We spent two nights here in mid-September. We were traveling with our dog and a car and thus had more limitations than most. The Mercure Lyon Wilson seemed to be a nice combination of location and price. The rooms on the top floor are enormous. And when looking at the emergency plan in the lobby, you can see that they...

The Mercure Lyon Wilson was a functional choice of a hotel - it was a reasonable distance from Presqu'ile and Vieux Lyon. It took about 10 minutes to walk to the shops and restaurants in Presqu'ile. Also, it is close to the river bank where there are fun bars for a happy hour cocktail, as well as hangout points for...

This hotel is located 15mins walk from the train station. It is across the road from the River, which has beautiful views at night. The rooms were very nice, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was pretty good, with a good variety. We noticed that the breakfast room was filled with business people. We also found the staff to be slightly rude...

Ideally situated. Just two bridges from the old town. Rooms and bathrooms modern and clean. Reception staff could smile a little more! Although we had booked, our 4X4 would not go in their car park. Even a small car had to retreat! I don't think it's that reliable. But the public car park only 100 yards away is modern, clean...

Needed to stay in central Lyon on business so the travel department recommended this place. Summary - great location across the street from the Rhone and a short walk to fantastic restaurants and the city center. The hotel staff and management know the location is great so they get to mistreat guests and offer no service. Some experiences we had:...

We got a great price which is the clincher here. The hotel is located across the river Rhone near the train station (within walking distance--15 mn) but a little walk from the historic center. We are walkers and Lyon is a great place to explore. The hotel is right next to a weekend farmers market with great homemade goodies--don't miss...

We stayed here only one night in May 2009. The location is convenient to the Gare Part Dieu (only a few stops on the T1 tram) and a nice walk over the Rhone to the Place Bellecour. There is also a street market a few steps away every morning, which has great produce and lots of other items too. The...
