What a lovely place! - The host is so friendly and helping, it was the perfect. start for our motorbike trip through France to the Pyrenees. - The old Lyon can be reached easily per pedes. - The rooms were really really warm, exactly what we need after the trip.

This is a small hotel right in the middle of things, and is also a bar- there was a birthday party into the small hours one night ie if you want a quiet place to sleep, this is not for you. The decor is a delightful collection of all sorts of things the owners have bought at flea markets over...

The Boulevardier looks like what you could call a budget hotel but it has excellent (small) rooms in the center of the Lyon at a reasonable price. The rooms that my friends and I stayed in were all recently refurbished with modern bathrooms and beds (the only things I really care about in a short-stay city hotel). There is not...

This was definitely a special place, and I am glad we stayed here, but it wasn't perfect. The first major issue was when I arrived with my heavy bag, that I had to push up 3 flights of incredibly narrow twisted stairs, in the partial dark (as we could never figure out how to turn the lights on), by myself...

Plenty of character in this very old building with modernised rooms. Cedric the owner has eclectic taste in decorations, particularly in the bar. Don't expect the usual services like a full time reception or swank toiletries but good WiFi, clean rooms and great location awaits. Easy to find as its alongside an equally old St Nizier church. Be prepared to...

Le Boulevardier is a French hôtel in the best sense. It is not your modern, slick monolith, it has character and atmosphere and makes the best of the centuries old building. It is in a wonderful location for exploring the city, opposite the St Nizier church, with a number of small squares, cafes and restaurants close by and supermarkets around...

The room was lovely (the walls are from the 15th century!) and the bathroom was very modern and nice. There was no parking, but there were many (expensive) public lots nearby. The location is incredible (right on the peninsula!) and our room had a view of Saint-Nizier, which is across the street from the hotel. Lugging our large bags up...

Booked here on Lonely Planet recommendation. Apart from its excellent location in the centre of Lyon between the Rhone and Saone rivers, I can't say much else. No parking available which was a problem as we had a car. The front bar, when you can get breakfast, better elsewhere, is quirky as is the stair case in the hotel. Our...

Let me start by saying - the "property" is not terrible, but our experience was. Our room was small, clean, and minimal, but what I expected for 69 euros. The bathroom was recently renovated and very nice. The street was very noisy and since there was no A/C, we left the window open which didn't make for a restful night's...

Hotel Boulevardier Location - Good central location between the saone and rhone rivers to explore Lyon by foot. Cheap taxi ride to and from Gare Part Dieu station. About 45 minutes and 60 euros by taxi to the airport. Hotel & Room - Quirky old style building atop a pretty cool little bar (also where breakfast, good value at 6...

“quiet rooms overlook the tiny quiet courtyard, perfect for sleep quality. There is no lift so be prepared to climb up very high floors, great exercise!”

“Room 1 on the first floor is really nice if only two people, otherwise Room 14 on 1st Floor if 3 people. As no lift, closer to ground floor is best if you don't like climbing stairs”
