I booked this charming chalet boutique hotel through my bank as they have a cashback offer on hotel stays and this was one of the hotels in Chamonix that had availability, was open during summer and had parking onsite. We went their with my friends last August to escape the provençal heat and we booked a Family room. Normally the family room is for 2 adults and 2 kids so we called them up to confirm if it is ok to room 4 adults. We had to call twice as they had customers checking out but the lady who assisted us was very nice and helpful and told us that it was not a problem. I am not sure if this is just because it was summer and normally a low season for them or if this is their actually policy, so double check first with them. As indicated on the other tripadvisor reviews, this hotel is located beside the greens of the Chamonix golf club and is on the outskirts of Chamonix so you would either need a car or take public transport. This was not an issue for us as we came with our car and we preferred not to be right in the center where parking could be expensive and difficult. Upon arriving, the public parking outside the hotel was full so we asked the receptionnist to give us access to their private paid parking. Good thing that there were still some spots left as it was not a huge parking and could probably just fit less than 10 cars so I suggest that you try to book it in advance before your stay, especially if you are going there during the peak season. The lobby and reception area had a warm ambiance and exuded a homey charm. The receptionnist was very friendly and patient, very helpful and had a smile on her face. She handed our keys eventhough we arrived a little early and told us about the spa and gave us information on how to get to the center by public transport which we really appreciated. The family room was located on the ground level and was spacious enough for a short stay. It was clean, functional, well maintained eventhough you can smell a bit of humidity in the air and had a spacious balcony overlooking the golf course. The room also had a spectacular view of Month Blanc. Unfortunately, the room had no airconditioning, but since we are near the mont blanc, it wasn't that warm especially if you opened the windows. Also, since the hotel is not near the center, it was peaceful and there was not much noise when you do open the windows. The room had all the amenities of a 3 star property and the beds and pillows were ok and were comfortable enough for a short stay. After leaving our luggages, we went out to go to the center of chamonix to catch the Montenvers train which led to the Mer de glace, the longest and largest valley glacier in France. We decided to leave the car and took a bus instead as the bus stop was around 5-8 minutes walk away from the hotel. Since we got back to the hotel late, unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the jacuzzi as it was already closed after dinner so we just went straight to our rooms and slept. We slept well eventhough the bed sheets were a bit rough. We were not able to try their breakfast as we had a schedule to go to the Aiguille du midi but we checked out the breakfast room which was located on a higher floor. We had to take the old elevator and the breakfast room was clean but a little small in my opinion. Check out was fast and were assisted once again by a nice and approachable employee. Overall, we had a great time in Chamonix, and eventhough this hotel is old, I would still recommend it because of its friendly and professional staff and the fact that it is well maintained. Definitely worth the money we paid for. Although, if I will go there during winter, I might go for a more central hotel near the ski lifts.

My go to place in Chamonix for 20 years. Warm friendly, reasonable on price, well run and a great location. Not flashy but homely and just right. Philippe Bartoli and his team know how to run a hotel. Merci l'equipe! Jason

This hotel was low key but comfortable. Staff were friendly and approachable. It was nice to have the gym and sauna in the basement as well as the hot tub. One thing we particularly appreciated is that the rooms are not overheated!!! A rarity in many mountain hotels. One minor drawback was the lack of restaurant in the hotel itself. But the nearby Café with which they have an arrangement serves delicious food and arranges take-outs

The Hotel: This was a nice hotel, with a cosy seating area and fire by reception and a nice bar on a mezzanine level above. The boot room had plenty of space, with a heated boot rack although we were there during a quiet weekend and the boot rack did get full. There is a nice spa with a hot tub, steam room and sauna. While Covid restrictions are in place you need to book a 45 minute slot, and depending on how long the cover has been off, the hot tub will obviously cool down. There was a continental breakfast offered for €14 per person, which seemed expensive to us, however the pancake machine was a welcome surprise and you could boil your own eggs. The Room: We had a twin "Drus" Room, which had a nice modern bathroom, plenty of storage space and enough plug sockets to charge phones etc near the bed. The room came with two different types of pillow and had a small mini bar and a safe which we didn't use. Despite some previous reviews, there was a generic body soap provided in dispensers. The Staff: All of the staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. We arrived late on Thursday night and were shown to our room by the night porter, which was a nice touch. The manager was particularly helpful and allowed us to leave our bags by reception and use the spa facilities to shower after we had checked out to allow us to spend the day skiing and get changed before our return transfer. The transfer we had booked did not show up, and the manager was able to very quickly arrange a replacement for us, which drove extremely fast to get us to the airport on time. The Location: 2-3 minute walk from the Les Praz Flegere bus stop, from which you can access all the ski areas in the Chamonix valley, from Les Houches to Le Tour. Les Houches is around a 40 minute bus ride, but Flegere is the first stop on the line, so you are pretty much guaranteed a seat. Next to this bus stop is Le Castel Hotel / Restaurant which serves up some terrific apres ski vibes with big beats and table service. The Flegere gondola is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel, so it is perfect if you want to avoid getting the bus every day. From Flegere you can also get lift access to Brevent. There are a few restaurant in Les Praz, and La Cabane des Praz is next door to the hotel, providing a great atmosphere and some traditional French cuisine. Once on the bus from Les Praz Flegere, it is around 10 minutes to Chamonix, and this buses run regularly until around midnight.

This small apartment, ground floor with patio, has a kitchenette. The kitchenette arrangement (of burners in particular) makes cooking very difficult. Rooms at the Labrador in general (having stayed years ago in the hotel several times), including the apartment are very small, making it important to check the square meter sizes before booking. The Apartment is no exception A refrigerator is advertised but instead it is the very tiny and useless "mini-bar". Microwave only. The dishwasher didn't work or drain properly. The Labrador offers this apartment option, but is in larger competition with AIRBNB (and other apartment sites) which offer many more and better options, with higher quality/standard rentals at much fairer (lower) prices. Indeed, this is a 3 star hotel. With 3 star staff. 2 star apartment and 1 star value for money.

Dear Madame Simmons, Many thanks for taking the time to leave us another review after your6/10 review on our partner site where you mentioned how you had enjoyed our exclusive, quiet location, the comfortable bed and the terasse and garden which were particularly useful for your dog. We regret that you were not satisfied with the kitchenette (which is pictured clearly in the photos) namely the lack of a dedicated kitchen fridge and that you had problems with the dishwasher. If we had been made aware of these issues during your 4 night stay we would have been happy to rectify them as we did as soon as we discovered your feedback on our partner site. Our prices include all hotel services such as the bar, the reception, the SPA etc and of course daily housekeeping (which on certain days you elected not to take) and to speak in apartment terms end of stay cleaning. We have to mention that the apartment was left in such disarray and so dirty that it took two days to clean and so we were unable to rent it for two nights... Regards, the team at Le Labrador.

This was a second visit to Hotel le Labrador with a group of walkers. The rooms are comfortable, well-appointed and spotless with most having great views of the Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc. The breakfasts are superb and plentiful and the welcome and help from the Management could not be better. Although the Flegere and Grand Montets lifts were out of action this Summer, the variety of walking in the Chamonix valley was such that it didn't matter at all. I have not dount that I will be back to stay at Hotel le Labrador.

Wish I had read more of the negative reviews I see now about this hotel, with highly fotoshopped pictures and an extremely rude manager... next time in chamonix, will look for other options! Small rooms - renovated with low-cost materials, bad matress, terrible shower always floading (see pictures) Only positive is the location. Beware, and looking forward to see what “excuse” Philippe B., owner, will write under this review! Hope this will help him change his attitude or maybe change his job :-) E.

Second time to this hotel in 2 years, friendly service, good breakfast, room to leave your ski gear and boots and relaxing Jacuzzi and Sauna after a long day of skiing. Comfortable rooms with space to hang up wet ski clothes and a nice lounge area with fireplace where you can relax with other guests. Good local restaurants and parking for your car so you can geat around and ski all the areas of Chamonix and not Flegere only. Beautiful views overlooking the golf course and the Mont Blanc Massif from the rooms facing Chamonix. Will definitely be back next year.

The pictures on the website are giving a wrong impression as the rooms are very small. The rooms are very very expensive for what it is. Food was good. Location ok. However, the owner was rude and seemed to be bothered that there were guests around, we felt very unwelcome. Absolutely no good service. A group of friends wanted to book in the hotel for a week skiing but I managed to convince them to go elsewhere because the atmosphere in this place is not good.

Dear Customer , We were disappointed to read your review however we suspect that the reason you were upset with the management is that you were asked to leave the breakfast dining room at 9.30 pm in the evening. The dining room is closed to our customers from 11am in the morning and our guests are welcome to relax in the main reception hall (in front of the fire) or in the bar area. However use of the dining room is unauthorised once breakfast has finisihed. If customers would like access to a private room we are happy to look for a solution when asked. We sometimes have a conference room available for example. Yours sincerely

We stayed here a few weeks ago for 3 nights. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the golf course and the beautiful Aiguille du Midi. Our room was quite cramped and we struggled to find any electric sockets, we had to move various pieces of furniture to find one! The bed was comfortable, but the decor was quite 'tired'. On our second day, a housemaid let herself into the room at 9.15am, my husband was in the shower and I was still in bed!! Breakfast is expensive at €14 per person, not a great selection. We ate here only once and had breakfast in Chamonix on subsequent days. We were not able to park in the hotel car park on any day of our stay, it was always full, but there is a free public car park further up the road. We were kept awake until 3am on the Saturday night as there was a party taking place at the restaurant down the road and the music was incredibly loud! We liked the location of the hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of Chamonix and the views from the Mont Blanc rooms are spectacular, but unfortunately we wouldn't return.
