Stayed for five days in May with my wife and young (3month) child. The well-appointed room had a generous balcony overlooking Mont Blanc, a large bathroom, and a super-comfy bed. They had also provided a crib, changing pad, and formula bottle heater! Good start. Two things sum up this hotel perfectly. 1) we had room service the first night. It...

Are you kidding me.....this is the reason why I don't drink the Trip Advisor cool aid. This hotel is the best in Chamonix by far and one of the best hotels in the Alps period. The rooms in Hameau are beautiful and spacious. Granted the rooms in the main hotel are a little tight but they are spotless and pretty....

We loved our 6 night stay at the Hameau Albert 1er. Efficient and professional service from the staff, quiet, relaxed and comfortable environment only a few mins walk from the centre of Chamonix. There are 2 restaurants on site. We ate twice at Maison Carrier, which was excellent. Lovely pool with stunning views, half indoor half outdoor, which I used...

This Relais and Chateau property is certainly the best hotel in Chamonix. It exemplifies the exceptionally high service standards of the better RC properties and is also extremely well done in terms of design with an excellent fusion of old ski chalet style with comfortable modernism. The livery service to the ski areas is terrific. You can't comment on the...

Early March 2012, I came to Chamonix to ski and had no arrangements for the first night. Fairly late at night, I saw the hotel while driving by, and stopped to inquire about availability. From the first moment, all went very well. There was a simple but cozy room for me -- with luxurious amenities -- very kind, smiling and...

Actually we have stayed at Albert 1er in summer late in July: my wife, infant baby and myself. We can only give our best recommendations to this venue and help them increase the rating on Tripadvisor, well deserved. Our spacious room was, as far as i recall now, #7 on the second floor of typical French chalet, looking out directly...

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 1 week in a 2 bedroom suite in The Ferme. The rooms were attractive and spacious with simple furnishings that are a little worn eg. the shelves in the wardrobe were unstable and kept dropping down. A few of the staff are very friendly, mainly the man who transported us on...

For a ski area this is a great spot. Michelin rated restaurant had excellent food. Rooms were very nice and the staff was very accomiding. Breakfast is expensive but very nice. The best part is they drop and pick you up from any ski lift and this was fantastic. We are going back in 2013.

We have just spent a week in this fine hotel in their chalet 'soli'. This is a self contained wood chalet in the middle of the complex within easy access of all services that the hotel has. The staff were friendly and the service good. The minibus that they operate to take clients to and from the ski locations is...

I love Chamonix and this hotel just made my stay all the better. Wee jam jars full of dried fruit and nuts, bathrobes, slippers, internet, warm cozy decor... It is very comfortable with fantastic views, Im not sure you could get a room with a bad view. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is great with an...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the foot of mont Blanc, Pierre Carrier, Perrine and Grand Chef Pierre Maillet have taken over this hotel, devoted to exceptional cuisine and local delicacies, founded in 1903 by 'great grandfather Carrier'. The rooms in the main hotel or the chalets in the garden offer both modern and warm comfort. On the one hand, there is the superb menu at the Albert 1er with its elaborate recipes influenced by the Piedmont and Liguria and, on the other, the Maison Carrier restaurant with its specilaities to be enjoyed in the atmosphere of an old farmhouse or on the terrace while gazing out at the majestic beauty of mont Blanc. The indoor/outdoor swimming pool also boasts views of the eternal snows on the roof of Europe. An equally stunning and delicious address for winter or summer stay. ... more   less
