The location is good and walkable from the ferry and train stations. The rooms are quite basic. The carpets on the stairs can use a revamp. Good for transit passengers for a single night stay in Toulon. The staff was helpful with luggage storage.

Walked through what seemed like the red light district of Toulon to get to hotel from centre. Receptionists very helpful and happy. Hall light did not work so had to use phone light to find room number inscribed on the wall in pencil! Room smelt very musky and looked like it hadn't been updated from the 60/70's! Good view of... I recommend the location, few steps away from the main bus station and train station. Well it depends what are your plans but as we wanted to visit quite some piece of Cote d'Azur (by train and by local bus transport) so for us the location was just perfect. It's also not far from the harbour, anyway Toulon is not... More

I've stayed in many hotels in France in the past ten years and, in the 60 to 80 Euro category, this one is probably the worst I've stayed in . We chose this hotel because of its situation close to the train station, town center and ferry port. The only good thing about it was the reception staff, one of... More

Really there is nothing new about this hotel. The rooms need an overhaul into this decade. I was in room 534 and it resembled something out of the 70's. Dark disgusting carpets with cigarette burns and dingy walls helped contribute to the feeling of being closed in. The hotel receives 2 stars only because of its location near the train... More

Across the street from the train station, you can't find better in the area. My understanding is that there are new owners there that are really trying to improve the place. My room was adequate, very affordable, wifi was working and I had hot water :-) Granted, there are no english channels on the tv, or I was unable to... More

Hotel is old and worn, just like the bed I slept in. The shower is handheld and there was no shower curtain. The TV has no english language channels and the wifi wasn't working. that was the bad stuff. The good stuff. Location. really handy to the train station and downtown. My room was clean & the price is cheap.... More

Well now that i have read this i want to add my comment. Same deal! I stayed here on the 7th for 5 nights (sadly had booked this before hand). The hot water was not working and i was told on the day they were endeavouring to have it resolved within the next 24 hours. Yes, i did get money... More

Im really glad Trip Advisor is here so I can hold people who rip me off accountable. There is fundamentally nothing wrong with the Nouvel hotel. It's not bad inside. When I check in at 2200 at night and you smile at me and say "Since we do not have hot water, it's 18 euro off." Then they offered me... More

“I stayed at the back and overlooked into a crowded courtyard. You could smell the neighbours cigarettes. Next time (ha!) I would ask to stay at the front of the hotel. I think it might be a little more private even though it faces onto the street.”
