Casa Ortega is a beautifully decorated B&B located just steps from St. Charles train station. The proprietor, Caroline, is very knowledgeable about her city and happy to share her insight. She offers affordable and comfortable lodging in a Muslim area that is adjacent to the port and Le Panier, definitely walkable. Breakfast includes homemade yogurt and muesli, breads, juice, jams,...

Casa Ortega is a tall, green tiled building in a narrow street, almost opposite the St Charles train station. Once inside the double doors, there is an atmosphere of calm, peace and tranquility. Caroline was there to meet us and she was the most helpful and informative person you could imagine. She carried our bags - all the way to...

This little B and B is literally across the street from the main train station in Madrid which also has bus service to the airport. It's about a 10-15 min walk from the old port and there are many ways to get there. There neighborhood around it has a few cafes around it with people sitting outside. While the location...

Staying at Casa Ortega and meeting our host, Caroline, was definitely one of the highlights of a wonderful 2-night visit in Marseille. Too many good reasons to stay here if visiting this beautiful Mediterranean port city – starting from its location, which is right next to St Charles train station and very close to the port and le panier. The...

Loved this place. Right next to the station which was extremely convenient. Very easy to find as the facade is entirely covered in green tiles. The rooms are all individually beautifully designed, I found them to be far above usual french standards. I stayed in a so called basic room which is a total understatement of the room. The old...

We stayed here one night. The location is extremely convenient to the St. Charles train station, which provides access to the Marseilles metro system and bus lines (we were able to buy the special Euro Cup 24 hour pass at a discounted price). The Old Port area is a long-ish walk but very manageable. The rooms at Casa Ortega are...

My wife and I stayed here at Casa Ortega for one night during Euro 2016 in France. The accomodation is down a side street just opposite the main St Charles Train Station in Marseille. The owner, Christine, is absolutely fantastic. She is very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The room we had was good too with all the...

Lovely quirky room, Caroline the owner fantastic, great breakfast. However, I felt uncomfortable in the street outside the hotel, as there were always groups of men hanging around. I'm sure they were perfectly fine, but I felt intimidated.

We stayed two nights at Casa Ortega in late May. I had booked the deluxe room which is the biggest room available. Bathroom was small but more than adequate. All the rooms are uniquely decorated. But beware there are stairs to climb. We were on the second floor but our friends were on the third which was even more of...
