Nestled in the heart of Nice, the Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Mediterranee is celebrated for its strategic location near the beach and local attractions, with guests often describing it as the perfect starting point for exploration. While the rooms receive mixed reviews for their varying levels of luxury and some temperature inconsistencies, the breathtaking views are a common highlight. The hotel's amenities, including a commendable concierge service and sumptuous breakfast, are frequently applauded, though not without a few suggestions for enhancement. The staff's friendly and professional service garners consistent praise, contributing to the hotel's elegant and refined atmosphere, though a handful of guests seek more local cultural experiences. Cleanliness is a top priority here, with meticulous upkeep evident throughout. Despite its many virtues, some travelers advise that the experience comes with a hefty price tag, especially for rooms with premium views or additional features.

It had been 10 years since our last visit and I surprised my husband for this next ‘big’ birthday! I’d booked a king room with a “courtyard view and private balcony (on a low floor)”, but on arrival we were upgraded to a king room with a partial sea view. Room 715 was a very nice room with a balcony with a view of the Bay of Angels, glimpsed through the hotel’s façade. It overlooked the pool and terrace bar on the third floor. The room was nicely decorated, and equipped with the standard hotel room kettle and (motion activated) minibar, but also with a plug adapter and a small torch, which was handy to check the back of the safe and the top shelves of the wardrobe. The huge bed was comfortable, as was the bath – and good to have a separate shower, with both overhead and hand held showers. The fixed hairdryer in the bathroom was better than normal, but there was also a good Babylis in the cupboard. Loved having a heated towel rail to dry our wet swimming togs, or our bath towels.

I used the small gym both mornings – it had two treadmills and a couple of steppers, a bike and some weights. The treadmill was more modern than my usual (at The Gym, Tooting), so had a touch screen, and convenient ‘paddle’ levers to speed up and increase incline. If ‘pause’ was pressed, when you resume it would return to the original speed, not start at zero. My only minor complaint was the cool down period was only 2 minutes. We enjoyed using the lovely pool area, and also the sauna on the 6th floor.

The staff are friendly and efficient and were more than happy to arrange something special for my husband’s birthday – he received large 2 birthday desserts, one on arrival and another on his birthday! This visit was far too short but we won’t leave it 10 years until we return.

We have visited this hotel many many times over the years it’s a firm family favourite, delighted to write that we have just returned from a four day break, it’s safe to say that nothings really changed though with Covid there a few things to note,
Upon check in - you are told that housekeeping will only visit if you call them, we reminded ourselves to do this daily though we miss the evening turn down & replacement of fresh towels !
No menus in the room though room service is available.
Breakfast - slightly disorganised, waiting around & asking for fresh replenishments, flies on the bread which is not covered, the bread rolls were rock hard & a disappointment,
The pool is a deck level pool and is not filled up enough, the noise when you are relaxing around the pool area is beyond annoying, it is sucking air and makes a racket, you can hear the noise from your balcony too ( if you have a sea view room )
Of course in October, the pool area is shaded so you cannot catch the rays, the hotel have therefore made arrangements with the Rahul Beach opposite & along from the hotel for 29 euros per person you can hire a sun-bed, we found the promenade place directly opposite the hotel 15 euros per person and was a lot more friendly service too,

The hotel is not the Ritz but it is the finest in Nice, in a perfect location with friendly staff, & in a class of its own,

Special mention to BRICE in concierge, should you get the pleasure to meet with Brice you really couldn’t wish to meet a nicer gentleman. He is one of the longest serving staff members still around from our years at the Hotel and he is one of the original staff, he is kind, considerate, happy, helpful and goes completely out of his way to assist and support you, we needed help with the PCR locator form and he knew the entire system snd the U.K. set up, he helped put us at ease & understood exactly what we needed, thank you for being our support Brice you went above and beyond your duty 👍

We loved our stay, see you all next time

We stayed in Hyatt Regency Nice at the end of July for 6 nights as a part of our wedding anniversary trip to France. The hotel fits right into the French Riviera style. We booked a suite and asked for a corner one with a partial sea view. Upon arrival, we were given a room we asked for and pleasantly surprised with a bottle of champagne and fruit plater for our wedding anniversary (Hyatt never disappoints!) The suite was very spacious with a separate living/dining room, a big bedroom with a huge walking closet, a hallway, a huge bathroom with a bathtub, a big shower, 2 sinks, and 2 additional powder rooms. The suit was nicely appointed in the hotel’s style. We had a decent-sized fridge, a bar, and a Nespresso machine (convenient in the morning). Our room was cleaned spotless every day, and a turn-down service was a nice add-on. We did not have a chance to eat breakfast there.
We were pleased with our stay in this hotel and will stay again when next time in Nice.

Located directly on the sea and the promenade, the Palais de la Mediterranee should not be confused with a Hyatt Regency that one might find in the US. This Park Hyatt level property shines in every regard from service to location to rooms. Every morning a luxurious breakfast is served outdoors with panoramic views of the sea. The best beach clubs are just steps from the front door, as is the entirety of Vieux Nice, the most famous squares and the best restaurants in the city. The rooms and suites are oversized and luxurious, some with sweeping sea views that you'll find it hard to forget. Even parking is a pleasure at the property, with valet available or reasonable self-parking in the garage directly beneath the hotel. I can't imagine a better 5-star experience or choice of accommodation for a stay in Nice. Thank you to the entire team at the Palais de la Mediterranee for making our anniversary trip so special.

My partner and I have just returned from an amazing 5 days in Nice.
At the Hyatt, every member of staff gave us a smile and a bonjour/ bonsoir throughout our stay.
Louis gave us a warm welcome on our arrival, all the housekeeping staff smiled at us and the breakfast staff were delightful.
Our room was large, extremely clean (the taps literally sparkled) and was very quiet (we had a room at the back of the hotel). The bed was very large and comfortable with quality bed linen.
The Hyatt is well placed with the beach right outside the hotel and a few minutes walk to a range of shops and restaurants. Also a close walk to the tram.
Hint: Don't get an expensive taxi from the airport, just jump on the tram and for €1.50 you will get into the town centre of Nice. So easy.
So thank you Hyatt for an amazing stay.
My final thank you is to Vincent the Concierge. Super nice, super helpful and assisted me when I couldn’t get my vaccination QR code to work when I needed to get a pass sanitaire (to eat and drink out). He took the stress out of the situation with humour and efficiency- thank you !

The location was great, you just step outside the Hotel and you are sourrounded by restaurants. The pool area is tiny, so we just crossed the street to the beach where we rented 2 lounge chairs for the day, which was very convenient as you can also eat there. The breakfast was good, great sea views the waitresses were very friendly and fast. Our room was a little tired ... but the bed was really really comfortable. A big thank you to the concierge, always helpful, friendly attitude and very professional. The staff makes you feel welcome and that makes a big difference.

What a great hotel. From the moment we walked in on Monday until Friday at 5:00 am when we left, we were treated so grandly. Kim, the hotel manager, greeted us in person, and the person who checked us in also walked us to our room. The breakfast buffet was great and so many choices. All the staff were very friendly and greeted us whenever they saw us. The room was spotless, and it seemed like housekeeping was always giving us fresh towels and bottled water. The concierge made our reservations for dinner multiple times, and we were never disappointed. I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed this hotel. There is no other place we would stay on our next trip to Nice.

Our stay here was fabulous. The services provided by the concierge, housekeeping, front desk and food staff was attentive, excellent and personalized. The concierge service was among the best I have experienced (thank you Vincent!) and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. Traveling during this time can be challenging but the Hyatt used the highest standards of care down to contactless buffets to make the experience safe and as close to what it was before covid. The sea view rooms are stunning and spacious. I highly recommend a stay here if you want a restful (beds are super comfortable) and enjoyable Nice vacation. Fun shops and pedestrian streets of Old Nice are steps away. Great location and service.

Loved this hotel! Room with sea view is a must!
On arrival the reception staff greeted us and we we were in our room by 10am with no early check in fee which was appreciated! The smell as you walk through the entrance and corridors is lovely!
The room was immaculate and very nice, huge room, bed pillows, bath and balcony I couldn’t ask for more!
I requested fresh milk which arrived within minutes, very attentive, anything we needed we just called and it was there.
Breakfast was good considering it was during COVID, no self service obviously just queue at each station and tell them what you want. Good selection and staff really good.
Pool very nice not the biggest area to sunbathe on but we managed to get a bed at some point in the day!
Excellent toiletries provided along with cork screw and travel adapter which I’ve not seen before in any hotel so that was a nice touch.
Couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough! We went to Monaco for 2 nights thee e n came back to this hotel again, this time on a garden room which I didn’t like as it looked on to other guests in a U shape, you get what you pay for basically.

Stayed during Easter holiday break with wife and daughter and stayed in a Sea View suite room which offered great views and balcony overlooking partial sea view. The staff, particularly Geoffrey the concierge, were extremely efficient and helpful with many requests we had and assisting in arranging restaurant choices.

Unlike some other reviews, I did not find the property "tired", rather was quite ok in this regard for the most part, maybe not quite 5- star standard but still quite close to this and acceptable, most importantly impeccably clean.

There were some other nice touches provided, including a small bag of chocolates in an Easter bag left at room on Easter Sunday morning, and also some very nice welcome amenity for our special anniversary, and extremely thoughtful of the hotel.

As with another review, also found that they are still using these old mini bar fridges that had the old technology of auto charge when something was removed. There is nothing in the mini bar now, but the temperature was inadequate to use as a regular mini fridge and would suggest next round of upgrades these need to go. These are in room amenities guests today expect to have.

We had room service dinner two evenings, and it was one of the best room service experiences ever, under 20 minutes from time of ordering to delivery to the room and exceptional quality, choice and relatively good value for money unlike many room service menus that hike up prices to the point you have to be desperate to use, this was excellent.

A great location, great service and very clean property. I would definitely stay again in the same category on a future trip.

Greetings, What is the fee to park a car overnight?
Answer from Brigitte T

The parking fee is 40.00 euro per day . You can park around the street for 31.00 per 24 hours , but so much easier to have them take the car from you when arriving or done for the day . They are so helpfull and friendly . Unless you are sightseeing around the area , you will not need the car . All within walking distance of the hotel. Vieux Nice , The Chateau on the hill .. flower market .

That I do not know. We booked thru our travel agent so we received free breakfast.

Sorry, can’t help with this- it wasn’t the season for being on the beach. We swapped to this hotel as we wanted a pool; our agent found a hotel with pool- but the pool was closed until April, weeks after our stay. So this Hyatt was rare in having an open pool at our time of visit. Years earlier we stayed at Mercure Promenade des Anglais, nearby, on same street. The hire rate then was around $10 per day for 2 loungers 1 shade- and this was a private, fenced bit of beach with service to your loungers- very pleasant. I suggest you contact the Hyatt by phone or email; they will probably be happy to advise on dates and rates- and whether they have a private patch of beach- which I expect they do. Enjoy your trip! Thanks, John S.
