We stayed one night, top floor, Saturday night. Smallest shower I've ever seen and very average amenities. But the location is good and the staff were very friendly. It badly needs a make over, with ratty carpet, dated bathrooms (maybe 1970s,I'd say), and ordinary bathroom linen. It was also expensive for a 3 star hotel but I suspect that could... More

This hotel is in the old town but on a street that is quieter at night (cafes not bars). It is near the main avenue and parks and central Nice. Very quirky and pretty decor. Family run service. No elevator and not luxury. Get the balcony rooms if you can. This was our second stay.

We were excited about the place before we got there. To start off, we made a mistake of having a car. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A CAR. There's no place to park nearby. On the day of our stay (7/6/15 - American format) they didn't have internet or restaurant service. The restaurant was closed for some reason... More

Lovely welcome and lovely helpful staff, this hotel has a perfect location in the Old City. We sampled the restaurant on our final night and were very impressed with the Mauritian Curries, a nice change from Pizza, pizza and pizza everywhere else! Our "budget" room with very welcome A/C, was lovely and clean but exactly as described, very, very small.... More

Stayed here for the first time under the new owner who is a lovely friendly man. Room was perfect looking over Rue de la tour. Staff were always available and helpful particularly Mendi. Decided to eat here and it was the best meal I have ever eaten in Nice, a fusion of French and African provided by a wonderful chef.... More

We only had one night at Villa La Tour, but we enjoyed our stay and especially the proximity of the hotel, to the old town. We had booked a superior room with a balcony, but we were offered an upgrade, to a suite, possibly, because it was on the first floor and we were a mature couple, with two rather... More

Stayed at Villa La Tour for 2 nights after hiking the GR20 in Corsica. Wonderful warm welcome and excellent location, close to everything. Staff were very helpful. Have stayed there 3 times now and would be very happy to stay there again - in fact heading back this year.

a gem of a residence on the edge of old town and across the road from large and very lovely gardens where you can enjoy a wonderfully cool evening stroll. Madam is a delight- tour guide, housekeeper, bar person and friend in Nice. Yes the rooms are small and some are noisy at the front but this is old town... More

A welcome glass of wine offered by Madam, is immediately relaxing after negotiating Nice traffic. The new small restaurant area offers the choice of an evening supper. While the rooms are small, they are exquisitely decorated; and the location in the old part of Nice ensures you will not stay inside for long. So very French and only a few... More

Good Location in the charming Old Town,The hotel in very close to the picturesque flower and cadeaux market, which is good to look at people coming and going. I come to Nice to paint and of course to admire the magnificence of the light, I just need a small room to sleep for the night. The service was very good,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel where you will be staying during your visit to Nice is conveniently located, din the historic section of Old Nice, between Place Masséna and Place Garibaldi, bordering the Promenade du Paillon, which stretches as far as the beaches, and within walking distance from the various points of interest in the heart of town. Crowned by the Saint-François Tower (built in the 18th century to provide a steeple to the Franciscan monastery, then in the 19th-c., the City of Nice added a clock, now the tallest building in the city), Hôtel Villa La Tour is a charming spot with a stunning intimate setting designed to make you feel right at home. At Villa La Tour, you'll meet lovers, businessmen, athletes and actors, all here to seek out the charms of Southern France and Old Nice, the nearby seaside, nature, shops, outstanding restaurants, Theatres, Opera Convention venues (Acropolis), des museums (MAMAC, Chagall, Matisse and more). Here, you're at the centre of it all! This cosy boutique hotel has only 17 guestrooms, which are often full, so it is indispensable to book as early as possible. ... more   less
