Detailed Reviews

Overall, very good stay at the AC Hotel.
- Location: The hotel is located 2 KM from Old Nice. The area of town that it’s located is neither beautiful nor grungy. 1 minute walk to the beach and 3 minutes to the subway or bus stops (which are then a 5-10 minute ride into the city center). You’re likely not picking this hotel for the location, but the area is safe and you can get to the city center in less than 15 minutes.
- Room: Spacious, clean and comfortable. Bed was excellent. Room included a coffee maker, kettle for tea, and a mini fridge. Most importantly, the air conditioning was outstanding — temperature was fully controllable and could get icy cold (if desired). The only downside to the room was the windows, which were not soundproof. As such, there was some road noise that could be heard in our room at night when trying to sleep. We didn’t hear noise from room neighbors though.
- General Facility maintenance: Clean. But some areas weren’t 4 star worthy. Hallway floorboards hadn’t been replaced in my lifetime. And the lobby lacked the hotel lobby smell. Small details which won’t bother most, but will certainly irritate some.
- Pool: Excellent rooftop pool, but very few lounge chairs. Get there early or hope you’re lucky. They need to remove restaurant tables during the day to add extra pool seating.
- Rooftop restaurant: Great sea views and excellent food. The night we visited had live acoustic music too. Recommend making a reservation, as it’s busy even on week nights over the summer.
- Miscellaneous: No room service, but there’s a lobby market always open and the rooftop restaurant is open for lunch, snacks and dinner. Friendly staff.
Overall, the hotel is comfortable but not luxurious. It was excellent for our short stay. A little out of the city center, but we knew that before coming. Had the windows been double glazed and had a tighter seal to keep out traffic noise, this would have been a 5 star stay. Would return.

We booked a 'junior suite' at the AC Nice for a few days and we were pleased with our choice of room. Lots of space for our luggage, plenty of outlets for our devices, good closet space, a safe for valuables. The spacious suite had a comfortable sitting space with a large window that offered a partial view of the water. The room was very clean, bright and the space is well designed for a longer visit. Loved it!
The staff was attentive to our needs, especially the front desk staff member Francis (I think that is his name) was so helpful in directing us to a great laundromat just a block away. The bartender (sorry I forgot his name) kindly gave us a list of restaurants that he thought we might like.
What we liked about the hotel itself was the peaceful atmosphere in the lobby during our stay and it's little private garden oasis and sitting area for guests at the rear of the hotel just off the lobby. This area is served by the bar in the evenings. We enjoyed the space but the seating could be updated to make it more comfortable.
The hotel is located just off the Promenade and there is a tram that is just a short distance away that takes you to the city Central shopping. No wait as trams are every 5 minutes. We took Uber at other times.
We checked out the breakfast room but decided to eat elsewhere as we did with all meals.
Overall we felt the hotel was good value for the 'junior suite with partial sea view' we booked, not sure about the other room choices.

It was a long walk to the main beach area of Nice. But it was near the promenade along the sea, so it was easy to find the beaches and seaside cafes and restaurants. It was also easy to walk uptown away from the beach to find the shops and sidewalk cafes, and yogurt shops, and walking malls. The hotel did not include breakfast, but it had a nice buffet spread in the lobby area where you could get a meal, for a price. The rooftop pool was the highlight for me. You could order food and drinks up there and get a table overlooking the beach and streets below. The rooms were a bit “dated”, and you need to ask for an ocean view if you don’t want to look at the alley with garbage trucks clanking bins in the morning.

I am currently staying at the hotel. All the work of the hotel staff, reception, breakfast, cleaning is carried out by the pool staff, who are poorly educated and quite arrogant, especially the manager. Besides, the photos of the hotel about the pool are overrated. I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you want to enjoy the pool

This hotel is conducting ground work improvements at the moment and still fully open. Our allocated room was 1 floor up from the groundworks with workmen, drills and diggers directly under our window. The drilling made the whole room vibrate. We asked for a room change and were offered a room one floor up and not directly overlooking the works. As we were there for the Rugby World Cup we were informed the hotel was full and this was the only other room option. It was slightly less noisy but was poorly maintained with wardrobe door that wouldnt open/close, shower head broken, shower drain broken, desk lamp broken and dirty floor. When the works were happening the whole hotel shook. It was impossible to be in the lifts, lobby or rooftop pool area without being impacted by the works. The management acknowledged the impact by leaving a letter in our room with a cheap bottle of wine and 2 vouchers for a drink in the rooftop bar, which couldnt be used in the evening when the restaurant was booked. How this hotel could believe it acceptable to conduct these works whilst accepting full paying clients is appalling. This hotel is classed as 4 star, I have stayed at better 1 star hotels.
Do Not Stay and if you are booked I would suggest you seek alternative accommodation.

The rooms in this hotel were clean and the bed large and comfortable, our shower was either freezing or scalding, we couldn’t get the temperature right at all and we had no shower gel, which admittedly we didn’t ask to get filled as we thought the cleaning staff would check it. The decor is a bit dated throughout the hotel which could really do with brightening up a bit. The breakfast room particularly was very tired and brown, we would have liked to have eaten outside but the small garden area seemed to only cater for smokers. We took our coffee outside a couple of mornings and the tables were dirty and the ashtrays full from the night before. The pool area is lovely with amazing views but loungers are reserved very early and are limited in number, several times we went for a swim after a long hot day around 4pm and there was nothing available except seats set up for dining. The pool was a good temperature and lovely to swim in, if a bit small. There was an apparently new system in place for pool towels and we hadn’t been given tokens on check in. We weren’t asked for them the first day and got towels no problem, the second day the staff refused to give us towels despite us having our room keys with us. We had to go all the way to reception to get them and then we overheard other people getting them without tokens - so the system doesn’t work very well! I asked reception if my daughter who was staying in Nice could join us one day at the pool and was happy to pay a fee for this. I was given a very blunt no in answer to this question by a rude receptionist, the rest of the reception staff were very polite. I understand this may not have been possible but a polite no would have been preferred. When we were waiting to leave we heard several people complaining loudly they couldn’t get into their rooms and were being told check in is ‘From’ 3pm and not ‘At’ 3pm so beware of this, some people waited an hour to get into their rooms. We stayed in 3 different hotels in France and this was our most expensive and least favourite.

Dear Lindsay G, Thank you very much for your recent stay with us and for taking time to share your impression. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one goal and we are very sorry to read that we have not been up to your expectations. We do apologize for the fluctuant water temperature in the shower, and for the inconvenience it may have caused you during your stay. Please be assured that I have personally share your comment about our garden, to the restaurant Manager in order to make sure that this situation, will not happen again. It is important to us that our guests can enjoy their breakfasts outside in a healthy atmosphere. However, we are very happy to read that you enjoyed our pool area and its view. As our roof top has a limited capacity of sunbeds, we regret that you could not have one, as much as you would have liked. In addition, we were setting up a new procedure, using tokens to have an optimized dispatch of our pool towels as ecology is a big concern to us, it often takes few days for a new procedure to be integrated. Concerning the inconvenience occurred with your daughter, we would have been more than happy to welcome her. Unfortunately, as our pool area is very limited we could not welcome your daughter’s friends. Nevertheless, our receptionist must be polite in any circumstances, and we do apologize for this lake of politeness, a refresh training has been conducted to our front desk team to provide the best quality of services. Be assured that we always try our best to have our guest’s rooms ready at 3PM or earlier, to the extent of possible. It may happen that a guest has not his room at 3PM sharp, as we are in very high occupancy. When it unfortunately happens we always propose a solution for our guests to refresh and keep their luggage in our luggage room, so they can enjoy, our roof top or our city while their rooms are being cleaned. Despite that, we truly hope to have another chance to welcoming you back and change your experience around by providing you with the most care and attention. With my renewed apologies.

Sure, the hotel is in a good position, but rooms are very much like dorm rooms. We were apparently upgraded to a junior suite, I would have hated to see the original room we were booked into! We booked a twin, and technically it was a twin, but the beds were literally jammed next to eachother. As we were travel companions, not lovers, we struggled to push the beds far enough apart, to find the dirt and debris underneath hadn't been vacuumed for what appeared to be some time. On checkout, whilst juggling luggage and a hire car, I forgot my good leather jacket in the wardrobe. I realised and called within hours of leaving, and was told I had to speak to the desk manager who wasn't in again until the next morning. After speaking to the desk manager, was told that the room had been cleaned, another guest had checked in and the jacket was not reported into lost and found by housekeeping. Also told that housekeeping cannot enter the room without the specific permission of the current guest, which wasn't true as our room was serviced daily without ours. After 3 weeks of being assured that if it was there it would be found, it is still "missing". We are convinced it has been taken by housekeeping staff - and even though the desk manager appeared to be the only caring staff member, was unable to do anything further . After lodging a formal complaint with Marriott Head office, received a vague email about how they would refer the issue to the Hotel, but referred it to a completely different hotel altogether!! Not the Marriott standard that we have known and trusted for years.

First off, we didn't plan on staying in Nice but due to unexpected bad weather we extended our holiday along Cote d'Azure. The hotel is right off of the main strip one street back and very updated in line with the AC's no nonsense frill yet well appointed. We were greeted by Eilena (my apologies if the spelling is incorrect) who was very kind, knowledgeable and efficient. While the bathrooms do not have any outlets for hair appliances they do offer a hairdryer that is on the wall. The room had USB ports which was a great not the norm with many hotels in France. Parking is a breeze and located right below the hotel cost 25 Euros at the time. BREAKFAST is wonderful! Definitely worth it.

Had a lovely four night stay in this hotel with my husband. From the moment we arrived the staff were so accommodating and helpful. Our room was spotless and the hotel was very covid safe. The breakfast was buffet style but staff were constantly cleaning and hand sanitizer was available for all to use. The food was fresh and there was a wide selection of hot food, pastries, fruit and yoghurts.
The rooftop pool and restaurant offered stunning views of the sea and city, we enjoyed many a cocktail up there. We did get dinner one night on the rooftop and found the food only ok for what we paid. Would recommend having drinks on the rooftop but heading out into Nice for food as there are a wonderful restaurants located nearby that are better value for better food.
The outdoor garden was a lovely space for a glass of wine and reading a book. We had no issues getting sun beds by the pool at any time of day, perhaps as summer season was at the end it was less busy.
We found the location to be ideal, right off the promenade and about a 20 minute walk from the train station. Would absolutely stay here again.

Pros: Location, black out curtains, friendly staff
Cons: Cleanliness, noise, TV, no room service
Hotel:
We wanted to like this hotel. The location is great and the outside is lovely to look at. However, we were greatly disappointed from the moment we stepped into our room especially for the price. It was clear that our room was not cleaned properly as we found toe nail clippings in the shower, hair in the bedsheets and on the bathroom counter, a used coffee pad in the machine, half used toilet paper not even folded up, and water marks all along the windowsill.
The pool closes early as then it becomes a restaurant.
Noise in the streets, room, and hallways woke us up every night (we stayed 4 nights). Additionally the tv would turn on on its own in the middle of the night so we had to unplug it from the wall.
Dining:
There is no room service which was truly a downside as it was quite hot and after long days it would have been perfect to just have that.
The rooftop restaurant (where the pool closes) is overly expensive for the quality of food and not accommodating. It was an evening in the middle of a heatwave and staff refused to let anyone switch to tables in the shade as they were "all reserved" even though we also had a reservation and those tables were not sat for 45 more minutes.
Breakfast buffet is $22 per person.

I don’t believe so… there wasn’t anything going on when I was there :)
Best to check with the hotel! A lot of hotels might not have the usual spread due to the ongoing pandemic .
I’m sure the usual offerings will be therefor breakfast but might be to order and not a buffet anymore ( albeit temporarily).
I did see a few kids by the pool but mainly teenagers. No really suitable for smaller kids.
