Still a lovely site to visit, and it's close to so many things to do. Various mobile home owners, plus the site office, from whom you can rent a mobile home, so plenty of choice. Great swimming pool on site, plus the Auberge du Pylone which serves lunch and evening meals, pizza, and drinks.

Four adults booked last minute to this mobile home/ campsite, located in an excellent area of the cote d,azur with excellant public transport networks to the whole region. Local bus service to Cannes-Monaco-Antibes only a £1 per person and very regular and air conditioned. The train slightly more expensive but very good and regular service. Train and bus service at the camp gates. Avoid taxis, the normal fare is £20 per mile for locals and tourists alike. The site itself felt old and tired and in need of some TLC. It had all the usual facilities, with a £2 cover charge per person for the pool, which opened at 10 till 7. A very large site with around 1000 units but never giving the feeling of being too busy. Pub-supermarket-pizzereia-takeaway , bakery and restaurant. (all football matches being shown on sat at 3). The prices some what more than you would pay in the UK by an extra 50%.. (£5.50 a pint £6 a short,). We had fabulous hosts in charge of the caravan Jo & Damien, we got a return airport pick up for £60 well worth it to avoid the hussle and bussle of getting cases on the bus or train. Located 30 mins from the airport(you could however get the bus for £1 each and it stops directly outside the camp gates( you need to get off at BIOT train station)
the beach is a 5 minute walk away and so beautiful, you would need some swimming footware, the beach is all pebbles and getting in and out the sea a comedy site itself. Good beach snack bar at the price you now expect for the area.

The caravan, old and tired, cramped and should be taken off the site. We stayed in 922 (avoid it, you have been advised) the hot water didnt work, handles falling off whenever you open a cupboard, the internal decor from george and mildred) the small two bedded room the size of an airplane loo. i could go on but you get the picture.

Overall a great time, the location got to be the best for visiting the Cote d Azur.
The down side was, if you imagine all the mosquittos in the world having a convention, they hold it on this site. The caravans are seperated by trees and bushes a great haven for the little mites. Take all the insect repellant and bite cream you can lay your hands on, it will all get used. We went through about 6 spray bottles and bite cream and still got eaten alive. For this reason alone i wouldnt return to this site, it needs spraying on a daily basis, this seems to have been overlooked.

A very good eating place on the corner opposite the train station, it looks nothing from the outside but the food was outstsnding. pizza £8 the size of a tractor wheel, pasta dishes £8 enough to feed two healthy eating adults. many french specialities not even on the menu (frogs legs), pity we only used it on the final two days.

We went to Camping du Pylone for 2 weeks in July 2010. This was our second year there. We had a fantastic van with a beautiful pitch. It was a joy to sit out at night with fairy lights all around. The van was very modern and well cared for. Weather was so hot and humid we didn't do much, only went to Juan Les Pins, Antibes and Biot. Had planned to do so much more but were drained by the heat. Mossies were a big problem this year with no-one really escaping getting bit. It put a bit of a damper on our time there because it didn't matter how much repellant you used, you still got bit.
It's a great site in a geat location with easy access to the main towns of the riviera. Biot is a lovely village but don't waste your time going to the market there, 3 - 4 stalls maximum. 2E per person per day to use pool in July and August which didn't bother us last year but started to grate on me this year. That's 8E per day for a family of four, then sun loungers at 2E each then pool floats at 3E for 1/2 hr, it all adds up. Myself and my husband both came home with ear infections. Needless to say if we go back next year, we'll use the local beach or travel to other beaches. Plus the two guys who run the pool woudl need lessons in customer service.
Restaurant on site is fantastic value as is the Pizza / burger take away and restaurant take away. Always check out the specials board in the restaurant as the waitress doesn't always tell you what they are.
We'd like to go back next year - just waiting to get the van we want. Fingers crossed.

This is our third time staying at campde pylone, the onsite facilities are great and the staff at the bar restaurant are great, the 2 owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Unfortunately there is a parasite at the heart of the camp which totally lets down everyone else who runs their business from there.
This parasite can be located at the swimming pool, which by no means is the best swimming pool in the riviera!
Just sit outside the pool for 1 hour to hear the people leaving with their various gripes about the bearded guistapo!!
Very strict and unnecessary rules which dont seem to apply at any other site. Although this gentleman seems to very much enjoy harassing everybody to apply to the rules he however seems to turn a blind eye to broken glass and a lack of cleanliness and toilet paper in the toilets. When asked for toilet paper he gave me 5 squares of toilet paper for myself and my small child. This would barely have been enough to clean the urine off the seat that was already there.
I would like to say this was a one off incident however I witnessed him do the same to another mother and her child.
This is unacceptable when you have to pay 2 euro for the use of the pool and then another 3 euro for the use of a lounger.
Otherwise our stay at camp du pylone has been very enjoyable with a lovely clean van in a great location. The camp is situated 5 minutes from the local train station which provides a link to all the top locations along the French riviera.
Its a shame that the pool management can drive away repeat business as unfortunately we dont think we will be back now and its a shame that the overall management seem to have let this go for so long.

It worked out cheap between us, but 4 people in those small caravan's doesn't work.
Shop is cheap!
Difficult to get around as it is a tiny town and public transport is not so frequent.
VERY STRICT rules !
Only internet access is outdoors by the reception, quite a walk away.
Not relaxing at all.

4weeks in one of the biggest camping that i ve seen. But the quality is very good. There are all the facilites that you can need. With swimming pool bar restaurant pizzeria atm and a small shop. The location is not very good and the closest beach is not nice. You need a car if you want to move in Antibes.

My wife and I have been here 3 times, the most recent been the 1st week in September. It's a very quiet site with a great bar run by Christian and his wonderful staff. The shop and bakery are decently priced and the pool is spotless. A very relaxing holiday awaits anyone going there,

Really enjoyed our stay. Plenty to do and plenty of places to visit.
Although we regret taking an organised trip to Ventimiglia market and Menton. The Duma Reizen minibus driver drove like a complete maniac, ignoring all speed limits! When we booked the trip, we were expecting a Coach ride with a sightseeing commentary! Not a cramped minibus!!

This was our second visit to this site. We stayed in one of Mick and Lorraine Harts units which was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. This lovely couple couldn't do enough for us and even invited us to a family BBQ which was lovely and we had a great time.
The amenities on the site were great and reasonably priced, the bakery was to die for and I blame them for my expanding waistline.
We didn't use the on site pool even though it looked lovely, we went to the beach instead.(wear shoes though as it is an all pebble beach and can be hard on the feet.)
Transport was good, cheap bus fares and the trains were reasonable.
All in all, we love this part of France and will continue to keep returning.

Campsite is OK. The bakery lovely. Site shop not overly expensive. Great entertainment at the bar in an evening. Nice families. Quiet at night. Pool is nice - but some silly rules regarding swimwear. Location is good. Unfortunately the old & tired caravans (they are not mobile homes!) REALLY let it down. They are actually dangerous. Boilers breaking and outdoor areas failing. Also, I'm not sure it was just mosquito's that were biting us to bits- I'm serious! Bedding provided was awful. Boiler leaked gas and water. We turned off the gas at night for safety Not all vans have airconditioning and if they do then a further payment will be required to use it. Next time we will stay in an apartment in Antibes & I advise others to do the same. Please see my photographs.

Good day, Can we find out if you allow BBQ? Thanks
Southender51 asked a question Oct 2014

Is there wireless internet access on site
Answer from Andy S
There are WiFi hotspots around the camp. You will need the passcode from reception to access it. I did find it very slow and sometimes takes a while to log into.
