Loved this gorgeous little hotel in Aix en Province. It’s in a beautiful old historic building and the location is fabulous, just a few metres from the Cours Mirabeau and within walking distance of all the main attractions. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but absolutely adequate. Definitely recommend.

I booked this hotel because it was our first time in Aix-en-Provence. I really wanted to stay in the old town and I loved the historic features of the property dating to the 15th century. I booked a deluxe room, at a cost quite a bit more than the regular double. The main public areas of the hotel have lovely historic features that are delightful. The deluxe double room had none of that. It was absolutely acceptable but when we return to Aix, while I would stay again at this hotel, I wouldn't spend the extra money for the deluxe. There is a deluxe room that has historic features but was not available to us so our room while large was not special. The room overlooked the street and while I was concerned about noise, when the windows were closed, there was no street noise. The staff were very welcoming and professional. The room clean and the bedding comfortable. Just outside the hotel, you have a superb and varied choice for all meals. We walked less than 10 mins from the train station to the hotel. The location of the hotel and the ambience of Aix-en-Provence cannot be beat.

Our stay was quite normal. We parked our car in the 24hr parking garage (Mignet) as suggested by the hotel. It was probably a 4-5min walk and not really an inconvenience as long as it doesn’t rain. The hotel itself is quite old. The room furnishings need replacement in the near future but still usable.

Id like to start by saying that from the moment of arrival I was impressed by the beautiful historic feel of the hotel. I was greeted with a very warm welcome by Chloe, who was happy to answer my many, many questions regarding the best restaurants, must-see attractions, the best boutiques, and about the day-market hours. The lovely staff and the stunning stone and stained glass windows are some of many elements that make this hotel a must! I stayed in the attic twin suite and it was very charming and perfect for my needs as a solo traveler. While this hotel definitely has the beauty of a historic hotel, it also has modern amenities that will make you feel right at home: wifi, many outlets in the room, and even a blowdryer in the bathroom! It's location is unbeatable, being right off of the main road (Cours Mirabeau) and everything is easily accessible by foot thanks to this. The service alone deserves way more than 5 stars. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!

I've had the privilege of exploring Aix-en-Provence many times & have only stayed at the Hôtel des Augustins for a number of reasons. This latest hotel stay of just a few days ago was no exception. First of all the location just off Cour Mirabeau, the main avenue in Aix, is centrally located so easy walking distance to all major sites including all the markets. I always contact the hotel directly when booking rather than using a secondary booking site because you can be assured of the best rate available. The rooms are of varying sizes due to the age of the building but well maintained & clean with comfortable beds for a good night's sleep. What makes this particular hotel shine the brightest though is the outstanding staff it employs. Ridha, Simone & Chloe are to be commended for their outstanding customer service. They will help you in any way they can & always with a smile & "can do" attitude. No request is too much, from printing out US attestation forms, Covid antigen results, booking taxis for TGV pick ups (60 Euro) or arranging taxi service for a trip to the Carrières de Lumières...all requests are greeted with a positive attitude. Ridha seems to know exactly when you need a cup of tea & happily delivers you a lovely cup in the lounge area. His thoughtful consideration for his guests & winning welcoming smile has been his trademark since I've been coming to the Hôtel des Augustins. All 3 employees mentioned speak excellent English so no worries about a communication issue. Breakfast is served right off reception, offering a variety of pastries, eggs, fresh fruit, juices, & hot beverages. How kind they were to accommodate my request for pain au raisin for a change from the usual croissants & pain au chocolat with a basket of them greeting me one morning at my "usual" table. I doubt other hotels would be so accommodating! Merci beaucoup! The next time you're shopping for hotels in Aix-en-Provence take a serious look at Hôtel des Augustins as an option. The staff will make your stay extra special. And, the location can't be beat! You will not be disappointed for all the reasons I've mentioned. Tell them Sue sent you!

We had received by e-mail a cancelation for our stay in the Rhone Alpes due to a case of Covid. We were flying in from Corsica and were wondering where we might stay for three days during our trip interruption. Being people who usually shy away from large cities, I am surprised that we chose Aix-en-Provence for our stay. Despite our first difficulties finding the garage, we loved the city and particularly the hotel, which was historic and centrally located. Our room included a terrace where we enjoyed wine and cheese. Although not allowing for a special view, it was certainly enjoyable place to sit and drink our morning coffee. Basically the room was large, with a refrigerator, safe, and coffee set-up. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating, helping in every way. There is a bar in the lobby area, and breakfast is served in the morning. Shops, cafes, and patisseries are steps away from the lobby door. Cute little allies, and marche stalls were set up on the main street everyday during our stay. The garage is about 2 blocks away, but street parking might be available. I can't say enough good things about the hotel, which introduced us to a delightful city in southern France.

A nice welcome on arrival and clean simple room. WiFi wasn’t great and access to power sockets was a pain as they were not in good locations. The hotel public areas are beautiful. The room basic. But very clean and very quiet overnight for such a central location. A nice breakfast selection also. Good value overall

Talk about a perfect weekend- thanks to Hotel Des Augustins! Such a beautiful authentic French hotel in the middle of the town! The location is key- right next to so many restaurants and shops. Also- you can tell this hotel was recently renovated- the rooms are modern yet the lobby is authentic French medieval style. Every staff member I encountered was so kind and friendly, and was very accomodating! I will be back!

Not putting 5 stars because a friend of mine stayed in another room and was not happy. He took confort and said his room smelled bad. Also did not have slippers but it is carpet on the floor. My room was good, confort or superior I am not sure anymore but I asked for highest floor and got a spacious clean room with big bed. Only this is there was no water provided. We all agree that the staff is super friendly and helpful so you can try it. The location is perfect and the building is super charming from the inside!
