As I strolled peeked down the quiet Rue Ducancel, I wondered if reserving L'epicerie was a good choice. The quick answer, "Yes!". Casual and nondescript on the outside, walking into a beautifully air-conditioning room with personal style & a view of the rooftops made me instantly feel at home. The wifi was very good - shower was great and the...

Lovely little B&B, charming owners. Beautifully situated in the old town. It's like staying in someone's home. Very quirky nicknacks everywhere. All the reviews wax lyrical about the breakfasts and for someone whose life revolves around ones stomach believe me they are exceptional. The price is extremely reasonable as well. Do go, so much better than some soulless hotel.

We chose L'Epicierie based on price, proximity to old town, and online reviews. It perfectly fit our needs! When we headed out from our previous nights' location, we e-mailed Luc & Laurent to let them know of our expected arrival time, so when we arrived about half an hour early, we weren't surprised to find that it wasn't open. No...

I was accompanying my college-aged daughter and her friend during their spring break. They asked to stay in unique places, not standard hotels, and L'Epicerie fit that desire! We stayed in the Cannelle suite, which was quite large with a queen size bed in one room, and a pull out sofa in a separate room, both comfortable. It was extremely...

Great place to stay to see Aix en Provence. Very comfortable and clean room - double glazing and air conditioning to cover all eventualities ! Characterful breakfast room decorated with vintageware where a fresh cooked breakfast is served. This was a great place for our last night of a short break in Provence. Thoroughly recommend this place.

I had the privilege of staying at this fantastic B&B on and off over a period of a few months as I was in Aix working. Luc and Laurence were exceptionally welcoming from the start and became more like friends than hosts as I returned on subsequent trips. I reckon I've slept in all of the rooms and they are...

My husband and I stayed in an apartment affiliated with L'epicerie and we had the pleasure of breakfast there every morning. Breakfast was fabulous. Every morning was an adventure. We were introduced to the foods of the region, what a treat. The homemade jams are excellent; the rhubarb jam is better than mine. Aside from the food, we were made...

A fabulous chambre d'hote. Very comfortable rooms, beautifully furnished, very quiet, and perfectly suited for a good sleep. Nice bathroom, loads of towels. Very centrally located, nearby public carpark, which was a bit tricky to locate the first time and can be necessary to queue to get into but the queue moves quickly. Charming hosts. Lovely breakfast with home made...

Where to start... A wonderful place to call home as you explore Provence. In heart of the Vieille Aix (old town) - but tucked away from all the student and tourist partying. Only 4 rooms, including 2 suites, all uniquely decorated with very modern bathroom facilities. Owner Lou was on holiday, but Maria was so kind and welcoming. She made...
