The Mercure "Les Archives" was nicely built inside an older building, presumably some sort of town archives, as the name suggests. This makes for very interesting views of exposed arches, beams, and vaulted ceilings. My room was clean and quiet, Wifi was provided, and the restaurant is very good. The personnel was very friendly and helpful.

Impressed by the website and being a Mercure club member we booked a 'superior' room plus breakfast. The room was ok, not really 4*! Why? Very odd shape no doubt due to the building having been a chapel in a former life, paper cups for tea/coffee which means once you have used them they are obsolete. Really Mercure this is...

Fascinating top floor room with the exposed beams and traditional bath. Also lovely restaurant and novel gallery for breakfast. Obviously a lot of care and thought went into the refurbishment of this old building and it is such a shame that many things in the room did not work e.g. broken plug in bath, no working plug in washbasin, the...

We spent just one night after a long drive. Part of the hotel- public space and restaurant- is built in what was once a church creating a fascinating and unique look, appropriate to this city known for its beautiful romanesque church. Rooms were clean, bathrooms great, and we got a good deal through bookings.com We had dinner on Christmas day,...

Almost unfaultable. No parking at the hotel disappointingly - especially for the disabled. But there is a drop off outside the door and public parking not too far away. The room and the restaurant were both a real treat.

I usually go to Poitiers once a month for 3-5 days and I usually stay here athe Mercure. Wonderful staff, clean rooms, convenient location and reasonably priced. Only minor complaint I would have is that they need to have more irons and ironing boards available.

My husband and I had a lovely two nights at this, our second, Mercure Hotel. Benjamin greeted us warmly and provided us with first class care throughout our stay. He gave us a tour of sorts and pointed out that the hotel is built within an ancient Jesuit chapel. We stayed in a standard room which was clean, quiet and...

This hotel is in a good location and is a converted church with immense character. In the hotel is an excellent restaurant, Les Archives, where food is served to a very high standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful.Bedroom had unusual shape due to church conversion restrictions. Only a short walk to town centre. Bus nearby for Futurescope visit.

The hotel was convenient to the train station, although up a hill and convenient to the sites of Poitiers. I paid extra for a superior room which was a duplex and very charming. Restaurant food was very good for dinner. I did which the reception staff were more welcoming and friendly but the staff at the Tourist Board made up...
