It was so worth the view over the harbour. Tall ceilings, balcony you can sit on and soundproof balcony doors. It was relaxing spacious and just what I needed on a careful budget traveling on my own. Only negative the bathroom was a bit small and dated. But the room well and truly made up for it, nothing fancy, a... More

We have been read a lot of reviews of this hotel and found them scary (dirty linens, not working shower, noisy etc) but decided to take the risks described and book this hotel. Surprisingly, the room was clean, the bed is fine, view is fantastic. Location is the best one. Staff is VERY friendly, helpful and satisfy any request (parking,... More

We stayed for one night in Hotel Le Rupella The Ups:- Location was ideal, right on the front with a lovely balcony overlooking the harbour. We were able to have a drink on the balcony whilst watching the world go by outside and the street performers (we had the best view). The staff were very friendly and spoke good English.... More

Hotel is situated overlooking the harbour and has the best view from the balcony, however, the rooms have no air conditioning (even a fan would help) and in the evenings there are street entertainers and hundreds of people walking around until the early hours so you have the choice of staying awake or baking if you shut the balcony doors.... Firstly let's start with the good points, the view from our room was fantastic as we had clear views over the harbour and all the way along the sea front. That's the good points done, the room was basic to say the least and not like any other hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. It was... More

My mother and I visited La Rochelle last weekend and stayed at this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had a comfortable sleep and the view from our room was simply stunning. We sat on the balcony most evenings just watching the spectacle below - street performers, market stalls, promenaders etc and by day of course the harbour is... More

Compact and clean. Friendly staff. Its compactness is compensated for by its location. Bed harder than Vinny Jones!!! We watched the world diving competition from the balcony and sit here at night watching the street theatre of fire eaters, mime artists and entrepreneurs with there flashing gizmos. Fantastic selection of restaurants.

The room was clean with a great view, but at 80 euros a night I think it could offer more. Location is excellent with harbour views if you get the right room. Glazing was good for a restful sleep. As the room was just above the street on festival of music day I can attest to this

Perfect Location and very friendly staff. Curious aerated soap dispenser which ran out and rock hard foam pillows. Good sized rooms and great views. So if you bring your own soap and feather pillows you will have a very reasonably priced stay
