This was my first time in Cognac, just one night on the way back to our house in France. Easy to find and a very friendly reception. Good secure parking and a great room. Quiet despite fronting a road and very comfortable. Breakfast was fine and good value.
Firstly the hotel was clean, simple and in the best location so can't go wrong there. Beyond that the couple that run the hotel were so helpful, my suitcase broke and they helped me mend it and were very keen to offer advice. Great value and service, 10/10 in my book.
Old style hotel best described as 'faded elegance' but in a fairly central location. The 'rooms' were separated by a 'Ikea style' wardrobe and the air-conditioning was a floor standing unit. Breakfast was continental and ok.
We stayed here one night. The rooms were nice, clean, plenty of room and good sized bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. It's a 2 minute walk to town centre.
We arrived in Cognac with no accommodation to find no rooms left in any of the hotels. Staff at P'tit-Dej had a room for the following night, which we booked as plan was to stay 2 nights. They then rang around surrounding Towns and found as a room for the first night. Great service
We arrived late and we left early so didn't really see much of the hotel. We were on the first floor. The room itself was very nice. I wasn't expecting it to be as modern as its more of a budget hotel. The room was quite modern with new furniture. Very clean. Good, free wifi. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was €8 each and offered the usual continental food. Wasn't the best selection but I enjoyed the boiled egg machine. We parked across the road as it was free after 8pm until 9am the next day. I would stay here again. Reminded me of an ibis hotel.
We only booked 1 night as a stop over but would have stayed longer if we had the time. Very comfortable and clean. Great location to everything Cognac had to offer. They have their own parking very close to the hotel for a small parking.
Stayed one night in this quaint, 2 star,18 room center city hotel. Clean and neat the room was simply & tastefully decorated with a large bath. No lift and no smoking. Breakfast buffet is 9 euros and street parking is free from 5pm Friday to 9am Monday. Cognac is all about "Cognac" and the lobby displays a variety of the product at reasonable prices. Its attractiveness is in its genuine character. It was 63 euros for a double room.
We arrived in Cognac without a hotel reservation so ended up here as a result of the Tourist Information. Evidently all hotels in the town centre were full and the only reason that we're able to book this room is that it was supposedly a suite (at double to cost of the all standard rooms!!). The hotel reception was extremely friendly and checked us in quickly and efficiently. They didn't even charge us for the garage parking which is normally an extra. Bearing in mind the room rate just for the two of us this was the least they could have done. The room was clean and tidy with a very large double bed. There were facilities for two further single 'put-up' beds and a set of bunk beds so if there was a requirement for six people in a room this would be excellent value. As there wasn't six of us it wasn't. I wouldn't really have described it as a suite but two rooms knocked into one as there was only one shower room. Oh and that reminds me, we were a little disappointed there was no bath . . . there could have easily been enough room. Breakfast was a little disappointing but functional and basic. Very friendly owners and if we'd had a standard room at the standard rate we'd be more positive and have felt as though we'd had value for money . . . just not at 'suite' prices!! Great location though just off the main square.…
During the hectic time of Vinexpo (in Bordeaux) and The Blues Passion festival (in Cognac), there is almost impossible to find any accommodation in this part of France. This hotel has a very good location only a two minutes walk from the heart of Cognac; Place de Francois 1er. This hotel is old, and not in very healthy shape; The shower must be hold by yourself, the characteristic black mushroom that appreciate old hotel bathroom was very happy with the lack of ventilation, the venetian blind outside of the windows has taken their last sleep (permanently down, and not possible to open). The room was not especially clean (very dusty on all surfaces, the bed and the toilets looks clean). No working TV, no minibar, extremely poor internet connection (switched between slow and non-working), and no secure fire escape route from the room on the top on the top of the roof. Refill of toilet paper only by request. Very simple breakfast (dry bread, one slice of ham per person, but on the other side; fresh baked croissants with a selections of confiture). The reception is closed from 9 PM. Why don't I give this hotel a lower score than 2 out of 5? I didn't expect much more at this price, and I was so happy to find an hotel during this awful hectic week.…
