I've stayed hear numerous times for 43 or 4 nights at a time, it's probably the best value vs service and location in town! The staff are really friendly and are fluent in English. Would definitely reccomend.

The Hotel du Palais is right in the middle of Angoulême, up on the ramparts in a square with the Tribunal d'Angoulême. While the hotel has no restaurant itself it is surrounded by places to eat (including an excellent Indian restaurant I have also reviewed - Au Jardin du Kashmir). The hotel has a restored charm, with our room (203)...

I stayed here due to a problem with transportation. The hotel is centrally located. Properly heated for November. Near restaurants and the train station. The rom was comfortable and not pre-fab, cheap hotel decorated. I would stay again if I were in Angouleme.

Another stop on a cycling tour in France in September 2016, Angouleme was a bustling but quaint town set high on a plateau. We lucked out in choosing this spot -- it felt like a medieval mansion that had been converted to a hotel, with huge rooms and lots of quaint touches. First impressions entering our room: daylight coming in...

Pleasant hotel with helpful staff. Bit of noise from square outside but overall an enjoyable visit. Town beautifully situated with great sunsets and lovely museum. Cartoon museum worth a visit. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose.

The hotel looks different from inside than outside. Inside they are using a lot of colors but we liked it. Everything was god including the breakfast. besides the typical french breakfast you also get sausages cheese and eggs. Angouleme is a beautiful old town.

The hotel is in a great location to explore the centre of the lovely city of Angouleme with helpful and friendly staff. The room was comfortable and had the bonus of loolking out on to the square below. The hotel is obviously quite old and is generally quirky though not in a bad way. Parking in the garage is a...

I stayed here with a group of Wales football fans so didn't choose the hotel myself. It is in the centre of this lovely town through the narrow streets close to shop's, bar's and restaurants. On entering the hotel you can smell the oldness of this hotel and that's not being horrible because the hotel was clean and well run....

In this historic beautiful town, Hotel is a small but with rustic mixed modern twist, a friendly hotel. Located centrally, easy to walk for site seeing, local shops offices bars & many small restaurants. Own limited parking (noisy shutter needs attention) but fine to park only if prearranged. Additional metered parking is avilable in the street and uderground car parks...

Charming smaller three star hotel in the middle of the historic centre. Excellent position. Staff very helpful and recommended an excellent nearby restaurant (Ruelle) of which there looked to be many. The decor is "colourful" and unusual with preferences towards lilac and Crimson. Quirky, eccentric?
