This hotel is in a converted wine domain situated in-between the two beautiful villages of Montsoreau and Fontevraud-l'Abbaye. The buildings and grounds are well presented and full of character. The welcome was excellent and our room was close to the attached soap showroom so there was an air of perfume all around. Our room (No. 2, -The Rouge) was spacious...

This is a great old property not far from Monstsoreau. Our room was spacious and decorated to suit but had a spic and span ultra modern bathroom. The on site restaurant is great so there is no need to leave once you arrive. The food was great and the service friendly but as more people arrived it took far too...

This beautiful hotel is located 2.5 km from Fontevraud in the countryside making for good views all round. The family running it are kind and welcoming, making one feel immediately at home The old French charm decor is tasteful and makes for a cosy room (with a modern white bathroom). The dreamy beds are handmade and luxurious. A superb French...

Stayed here for 2 nights in May. We had a lovely large room looking out on countryside. The hotel is very relaxed, with a nice atmosphere and all the amenities you could want.... including soap from the excellent handmade soap shop next door. Breakfast was across the courtyard in a stables building. Lovely atmospheric room with an excellent choice of...

Situated between Fontevraud and Montsoreau this private property nestles into the peaceful French landscape. Authentic french country home atmosphere with original furniture and carpeted wooden staircase. (NO LIFT) Our room was large with en-suite bath and overlooked the garden. No TV, fridge or mod cons that you would not expect to find in a a private house. €90,00 the night....

We stopped on our way home from the south and weren't disappointed. Our room in the stables had a great warm feeling and a fine view of the courtyard. The staff were very helpful and were a delight to talk with. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurent and my daughters lamb kept her going for most of the next...

We had a room in the stables , initially disappointed that it was not in the main house where we stayed last time. The room was however, as individual and charming as the last one and we had a very good nights sleep in the huge bed. Breakfast ( le Grand petit Dejeuner ) as prepared by the Patron was...

We visited the soap shop here last year .... And bought lots of lovely soap for Christmas presents. This year we decided to stop here in the hotel en route back to Roscoff overnight. However, we had a change of plan and ended up staying for five nights. The staff were absolutely delightful, and could not do enough to help...

Stayed here for one night en route to Calais at the end of a holiday. Found in Sawday's guide as a convenient half-way stop off; if only I'd known about this place before! Charming building dating from the 12th Century which has been so well decorated. Went into the town for dinner which may have been a mistake since if...
