Not really sure if we just spent a few days in a hotel or in a shop. The lobby and the bar of this hotel is overcrowded with so-called artwork that can be bought by the customer. And as the French say: des goûts et des couleurs on ne discute pas… The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean, but the hotel seems to be stuck in the nineties when it comes to the decor. We would also have preferred one good pillow instead of two very bad ones, and the bathroom could do with some extra lightning above the mirror.
We chose the hotel for one night stay and relaxing break with the kids during a road trip in France. While Honfleur is a beautiful city the hotel is old and run down, and expensive! We only chose it because they have a pool and the kids wanted a pool as we had been driving already for 2000 km. But rooms were really expensive, the pool didn’t look very clean and the massage wasn’t really professional. Kind staff, but not worth the money at all.
We stayed here for 3 nights in between Xmas and new year. What a bad mistake! Give this place a very wide berth/miss. This place tries to suck you in with the pool, sauna and steam room. Don’t fall for it ! The rooms are very minimalist indeed and very dated ! No proper shower, not tissues in the room, no views and the room is like an up market version of cell block H ! Really poor cold breakfast and no snacks available during the day or evening ! The pool health facility is packed out and it’s small for a hotel of this size. It’s way too expensive for what it is and is barely a 2 star in my opinion. 145 euros per day ! U gotta be joking. It’s a 30 minute walk into Honfluer so u will need to use your car ! Very disappointing. I wish I had spent a bit more and stayed somewhere else. You have been warned ! Also as the hotel takes dogs the grounds grassed area is full of dog poo!!…
The rooms are quite large and the pool is nice. The food is very good (you can order lunch for large groups / seminars) and staff is overall helpfull. It can be seen as a bit old but it worth the price. Unfortunately, you need to drive to go to Honfleur old town. It would help to have a more visible sign from the street as there is no street number. It is located right in front of Aldi supermarket.
We booked at the last minute, and now I understand why we were able to get a room- because no one wants to stay here. The hotel is on the corner of two streets and our room opened on to one of them- traffic passed all night. The room is old and completely lacking charm or comfort. The exposed pipes in the bathroom give you the impression of the lack of care and thought that pervades the whole place. The indoor pool is like taking a bath with tons of strangers and then you get to sit in the parking lot if you want a little sun. We had a reservation for three nights and left after one night. If this is your only choice of hotels, your better off staying home.
