Perfect location right in the middle of Honfleur. Old school house beautifully restored in a stylish and imaginative way with great use of large windows. Surprisingly quiet considering how close to everything. Lovely breakfast and great staff. Have stayed here before and will stay again.
My mother and I stayed at this charming old school house, now bed and breakfast during our recent trip through Brittany and Normandy. We were welcomed by Frank the owner and taken to our private parking spot before being welcomed into our warm and inviting room. This hotel is perfectly placed within seconds from the old shopping streets and spectacular Norman church of Honfleur. With lovely staff, delicious breakfast and perfect location we could not recommend this place enough!
You can choose a table in the gorgeous courtyard or inside the pretty dining room. The range of delicious pastries Madeleines cheeses meats yogurts and fruits was tantalising and all we chose was excellent quality. The staff greeted each newcomer with a warm smile and freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly brewed coffee or tea. The quirky building is 17 century and was a girls’ school. A delightful start to our day.
I imagine it is impossible to find somewhere so near the center and yet so calm and yet so charming and off the wall. The rooms were huge and very cleverly thought through. and had not been messed about with by a top-notch interior designer . Just beautiful old wood beams and similar left in place to show the age and character of this beautiful old set of buildings with an interior courtyard.I was terrified about where we would leave the car but they just met us at the end of the confusing single lane but both way street and then drove in front their mini moke to a place they also own or run where there is secure of road private parking behind gates. no sweat and just part of the servise. Breahfast was Top quality french and you could rate this place as almost unique. Total fluke to find. it was Honest!!…
We arrived in the tight streets and were taken to the annexe room that we had been allocated. We were given the second floor of a large converted house and parking for our car in an adjacent garage for the two nights of our stay. The room was massive and very comfortable indeed. The family who run the business provided a map and some excellent recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was served in the main hotel about 400 metres away. It did not disappoint though. It was a small buffet of excellent produce. I enjoyed the cheeses, meats and cakes. We experienced exceptional weather and our room was a little too warm however on going to bed we found raising the shutters a few inches to be the solution. Not the cheapest accommodation but well worth the extra cost. Thoroughly recommended. …
