Cheapshit hotel Dirty room and bathroom. Very stinky also. Discusting electricity installation. To be avoided. And To finish, you can open several room with one key. Price is very expensive for a hôtel like that.
On a recent pilgrimage to Lisieux we had reserved a room at this hotel. It did not show up on the hotel email or list. They made room for us and gave us great accommodations. The Hotel also has a restaurant and breakfast bar. The restaurant specializes in local foods and the breakfast bar was perfect. Everyone was kind, even when we were confused with the customs they were patient with us. The most hard working staff. I am so grateful for the time we spent here. Staying here helped us learn so much about french service at dinner and in the area.
The best lunch we've had in a week. Outside the Logis hotel of the same name, five minutes from the Cathedral. Simple but perfectly cooked and presented. I had filet de loup garni, my partner ordered the salade de chèvre chaud, followed by a scrumptious tarte tartin. Friendly and efficient service. Great value too! Full marks.
Hotel La Coupe D'or is nice hotel with a very good service. It is located on Rue Pont-Mortain, which is a easy walk from the train station. The restaurant serves delicious food. All home made Normandy cooking. The hotel is modest and a good value. Very clean.
Hotel La Coupe D'or is nice hotel with a very good service. The restaurant serves delicious food and you are assured to get a professional service by the servants. We think, however, that the bed is too small. We are both tall people (180 cm, normal size) and it is blamable that two adults should sleep together in such a small bed. That is really a shame. Otherwise we are fully satisfied with the hotel and would definitely recommend it.
After reading some reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to book a single room. I agree with many reviewers here. I arrived on Monday at around 12:30pm. The reception was closed until 2pm. So, folks, time your arrival accordingly. All the restaurants are either closed on Monday or for lunch (go figure !). Luckily there's a café just opposite the hotel so you could pick up a sandwich, coffee, tea, etc while you wait. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, which I'll comment in another review (excellent by the way). There was a queen size bed. It was very clean. There was a flat screen t.v. but I had no time to check it out. There was a little space for you to work on your laptop. However, one thing that irked me was the unreliable wi-fi. I'd rate this hotel much higher had the network been more reliable. I was kicked off every 5-10 minutes and had to re-log back on. Very annoying to say the least. The bathroom was clean but dated. There's no ventilator so what ever happens in there lingers into the room. Clean shower towel, mat and hand towel are provided. There are a couple of basic hotel soaps and a couple packets of shower gel. There is a hair dryer and a fan. Given that I traveled there in the fall, I could sleep with the window open to enjoy the cool, fresh air. You can hear your neighbor showering but that didn't bother me. My sleep quality was very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the train station, depending on your pace. It is also about 10-15 minutes away from the cathedral and basilica. It's so central to everything - pharmacy, Carrefour, groceries, cafés and restaurants. Excellent pricing. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Lisieux.…
We were traveling in a small group of friends--one person is handicapped and in a wheelchair. The hotel accommodated all of us with ease and helped with the chair. The rooms were basic, not especially large, but very clean, quiet. The proprietors are a family, delightful and friendly. We really enjoyed talking to them! We were astonished by the high quality and creativity of the cuisine in the restaurant. It is simply amazing, worth going out of your way.
The room was fine... Clean and neat. my tip: Ask for a room in the back or the lights will keep you up even with the shutters closed! The dinner we had at the restaurant was really good. Try the "tomato trilogy": gazpacho, tomatoes and cheese, and tomato sorbet (the best!). I'd go back to that restaurant in a heartbeat.
We stayed as a family of 5. We had adjoining rooms, a double room and our boys had two single beds. We also had a cot so it was a tight squeeze but everything was laid out even with a little sleeping bag for the baby. You can hear people going upstairs in the night which is right outside the door. It is very central which was convenient for looking around, only a short walk to the cathedral. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and nicely laid out. All I would say is that the room and bathroom looked tired and in need of an update, but it was clean and you only get what you pay for. For a one night stop it did us just fine.
We stayed one night in this hotel. The room was on the street, but at night there was no traffic, a bit noise rose from the street on saturday morning, but as we come from the city, this was absolutly not disturbing. The room was clean and big enough to walk around. The hotel is very central, we walked 10/15 minutes from/to the trainstation and the same to the Basilic, and it is just beside the market on satuday morning. Since it was "quiet season", we were not stressed for the check out, and so took our time to visit in the morning without our bags, this was very nice.
