Really welcoming. Parking in front of hotel next to church. Close to many bars and restaurants. Saturday morning fantastic rural market a few minutes away. Family run and a great welcome. Breakfast perfect. Room spacious and comfortable. Clean and quiet. Great value for money.
Perfect choice for us two visiting friends and seeing attractions in the centre of Lisieux. Charming hotel as well as host and with a wonderful breakfast. Even managed to have our rental car parked just outside the hotel. Ready to book again for next visit!
A very well situated hotel in the middle of the "route theresienne" between the basilique, the carmelle and the buissonniers. Very well situated in the middle of the town too but above all the very welcoming peacefull and helpfull owner and multi-task young lady Sophie will make you feel at home!!!
This is one of the last independent hotels in Lisieux and was a perfect place to stay on our cycle tour of Normandy. Sophie was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful and made sure our bikes were secure for the night. Our room was spacious, had bags of character and was very comfortable. Good breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We spent a week in the hotel and loved it! Very nice rooms with facilities for babies and also very quiet. Perfect to get some rest! :). An amazing tipical french breakfast. Thank you Sophie for the great service! Max, Flor & Mathilde
I loved this hotel the minute I walked in. the décor is flamboyant and theatrical, the lighting subdued and romantic and a whiff of perfume in the air. Soft jazz plays in the background in the reception area. The wonderful concierge looks like someone from an Alphonse Mucha poster, voluptuous with a cloud of dark curly hair and when we arrived she was garbed in a Grecian -style gown. she was charming and spoke little English which was fun after the creeping globalisation which neutralises a lot of foreign experiences nowadays. We got to try out our French! but she knew enough English to direct us to a very good restaurant that night. It was utterly romantic and if you have a drop of the artist in your soul you will love it there. It wasn't just a treat for the eyes, everything worked properly and we enjoyed watching the TV peering through the curtains of our 4 poster. It is one of the only independent hotels left in Lisieux and unsurprisingly is much patronised by guests from the Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Lisieux. it is located rightin the centre so easy walk to everything. We stayed an extra day because we enjoyed it so much.…
This cozy hotel in Lisieux is a great value: comfortable rooms with charming decor for a very good price. The hotel manager Sophie is very very kind and actively made sure that all our needs were met. The hotel offers breakfast for the extra fee of 9 Euros per person, which was a delicious assortment of breads, jams (confiture), fruit, cheeses, juice, and coffee: refreshing and well worth the fee. Wi-fi is free! The management responds to e-mail submissions from their website, but French language is preferred. For those visiting Lisieux to see sites related to Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, this hotel is in a fantastic location. Everything is well within walking distance from the hotel Saint-Louis: the SNCF train station, Carmel, the Cathedral, the Basilica Sainte-Therese, and Les Buissonets (Therese's childhood home). I can't wait to stay in Lisieux again and will definitely choose hotel Saint-Louis.…
I have been in Europe for 3 months now & I am so touched by the kindness of the Madame who runs this hotel. Not only has she decorated with class & style, she also greets and cares for her customers with kindness and grace. For a better price than other places we've stayed, we did not want to leave! But onward we must go & we can only hope to find such elegant character with a friendly smile at the next venue. I highly recommend Hotel Saint Louis :)
Great location, on the blue line walking tour in this quaint small town. The hotel is very clean, with delightfully appointed bedrooms. A very friendly welcome and a charming breakfast served too. Would highly recommend the hotel and the visit to the saint therese basilica.
Wow! Not a high-flying business or leisure hotel but a quiet and unassuming hotel that is a marvel on the inside. A great welcome, surprising bedrooms, a quiet and comfortable night's sleep, very central and helpful advice with those little things - like our running route in a strange small town - this is just the place to stay in Lisieux which is also a good spot for Rouen, Honfleur and much besides. Topped off with a great breakfast the next morning, very French and all at an excellent price. My only request would be for tea/coffee and proper glasses for the water (not plastic).
