Budget hotel in City Centre. No heat in room (in January). Furniture was scruffy. Bed had hair in it and felt damp. Partner had 3 insect bites in the morning. Shower was hot and bathroom descent. Handy for centre of town. No do not disturb hanger available and house keeping tried to enter room 2 hours before departure. No knock. Extremely noisy with voices, bangs and footsteps most of the night. Did not sleep well.
I am particularly unhappy with the room I rented. You will find the details of the state of the room as well as photos below: - No hot water in the shower and at the faucet (evening and morning) - Stained sheets and a burned pillow - Stained armchair - Wall light ripped off - Bedside lamp not working - Broken toilet bowls - Dirty toilet brush - Dirty shower with mold - Stained and/or damaged walls - Damaged furniture The quality of service is abysmal for a "3-star" hotel located on the central place of Lisieux.
Not the easiest place to find as its above shops and the entrance is via a corridor. The doors were locked when I arrived at 8.30pm and I managed to gain entry only because another resident assisted me. I then had to wait for someone to come to reception and initially she did not appear to know it I had a booking or not. A male then appeared and he seemed to know what he was doing and was quite helpful. The room was on the 3rd floor (room 36) and the lift was helpful. The room itself wasn't welcoming, plastic wooden floors, uncomfortable chair, stark lighting though it did had a fan which was a welcome addition. A bedside light switch was hanging off the wall, the bed was uncomfortable and the tea/coffee making facilities did not include milk and the cups were plastic tumblers. The machine could have done with some instructions too. On the plus side the shower was fine and it is in the middle of a very nice looking town very close to the rail station (but not too close) and the location is very quiet. 73 euros for a nights stay.…
Big room perfect for family trip to visit several towns. the breakfast is simple but good and not expensive. The cathedral doesn't ring the night or too early in the morning. Quality price ratio is ok
The rooms where a bit dated. Although everything was very clean. And i slept very good. The breakfast was reasonable quality. If you for a place for a night, than it will be a good choice. In the centre of the city.
It is not expensive, that’s true. However, it is very worn out and, in my opinion, depressing. The room was spacy and so was the bathroom. Good points were that the sheets were clean and shower was ok. However, in addition to the very worn out general picture, it was not that clean and they had forgotten to empty the bin from the bathroom. The layout on of hotel is slightly annoying, if you want to avoid the lift (not really a problem though) and they started construction work really early in the floor above us (I think it was 7am, but it might have been 8am). This might be a good place to someone who doesn’t care at all of the surroundings, but to me it was not worth of the 60 euros we paid.
Nice place to see most imporant places of Lisieux. People is nice and helpful. The only problem was cleanliness that could have been quite better. However the rest was very good. I can recommend it for a trip.
The hotel is perfectly central to the main area. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Hotel is a little dated I suppose, but have seen a lot worse in places with modern decor. The room was slightly too warm and the radiator not to easy to adjust. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Sadly only a three star place as WiFi was not working and we did not have breakfast. Would stay there again without any hesitation if WiFi was working
I like this perfectly located hotel in Lisieux. Close (walking distance) to everything. I have stayed here twice now (during the last couple of years) and 4-5 nights each time. Nice and very helpful people/staff/owner. I can truly recommend.
The hotel is in a great location and is very near the train station as well as the cathedral. We felt safe walking around the area, even at night and in fact, was even able to enjoy the cathedral light show. The room we occupied was spacious and in fact, had 3 beds (although there were only the 2 of us using it). It was very clean as well. I would definitely come back to this hotel and would recommend it to friends.
