L'hotel d'Argouges is situated in the town center of Bayeux. Close to the Cathedral and to the Bayeux Tapestry, this 3-star hotel has a garden, a bar, a free private parking lot and free WIFI access in the rooms. Ideally placed to visit landing beaches and Normandy, the hotel of Argouges in Bayeux offers you all the comfort and the surroundings of a private mansion of XVIIIth century.

The hotel met our expectations based on the TA reviews. We had a welcoming check in and were provided helpful information. The house was built in the 1700s so we knew that there would not be an elevator and air conditioning. The rooms are decorated to keep the theme of the building age. We found the entire hotel very clean. The grounds are kept nice with flowers and rose bushes. We had drinks in the garden one night. The parking was key for us as we used the hotel as our central location for visiting the WWII sites and Mont St-Michal. The hotel is in walking distance of most restaurants and stores as well as the museums and cathedral. We had an excellent experience and would stay again.

Bayeux was lovely, but our experience at the Hotel d'Argouges only magnified the experience. The Hotel is a short stroll from the cathedral, visitor's center, and of course, the tapestry. We stayed in an outbuilding rather than the main building itself and our room was very comfortable with a very large shower and nice toiletries. Breakfast had plentiful delicious offerings. But truly the best part of our stay was the service. Ice made dinner reservations for us including one night at acte 2 which was our favorite meal of our 2 week adventure. Ice and Juliet were instrumental in helping us translate our instructions for our subsequent stay in Amboise; I'm not sure what we would have done without them.

Just a quick positive review to add to those already posted here for Hotel d'Argouges. My wife and I stayed here for three nights in early May and felt that this was a great choice for us. The hotel itself sits back off the street, so it makes for a quieter experience. The free parking in back is a huge plus, too. We were shown our room by hotel staff at check in...enjoyed a good breakfast on two of our mornings here...and the hotel's location is an easy 10-15 minute walk to bakeries, restaurants, and the Bayeux Tapestry and Cathedral. If I had to find a negative, it would be that there is no elevator, so carrying heavy bags upstairs can be a bit challenging. But hey, the upside is that this is a beautiful property dating back to the 1700s! Staff helped with restaurant…

Hôtel d’Argouges is a charming hotel in an old château, in the heart of the city, and with an amazing staff. They helped with dinner reservations and picnics. We loved our stay, and especially our visit with the château dog, Gloria. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best hotel experiences we have had in our lifetime. The hotel itself is quaint with a medieval feel to the building but it felt modern in a pleasant way. The quietness of the hotel during sleeping hours was amazing, which is important to me. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff and Frederick, the proprietor were so accommodating to us. Anything we asked for was gotten for us with smiles on their face. It is clear to me that this hotel and the client experience are so important to them. The hotel is wonderful. It is literally just a minute walk from the main street in Bayeux. We had access to French bakeries, produce shops, the Saturday market and great wine shops. Parking is easy and accessible. The hotel has a nice common area with many…

Be aware the hotel is old without an elevator. Other than these negatives we had a great stay. The staff was excellent and breakfast was very good. They have parking on premises. Location is great. You are a short walk to lots of great restaurants, the tapestry, Normandy museum and Cathedral.

EXCELLENT hotel and stay. The rooms were well appointed and the staff, including management, were amazing. The daily breakfast is unmatched. Could not have been better. Would absolutely return. Plenty of things to do, in the area, as well.

Based on reviews and recommendation from travel agent we booked two night here. From the outside it is very quaint. And, the staff are all very pleasant. However, many “smallish” deficiencies add up: room six absolutely no WiFi, ever, towels as thin a tissue paper and no was cloths, breakfast buffet but they neglect to tell you the 15€ cost per person, no way to regulate heat or air, no shade on window, two plugs in room but both on one side of bed so if you use your phone for time one of you won’t have it, and finely- while quaint it is tired and in desperate need of updating

My parents and I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which was an experience itself! Beautiful, authentic decor, huge rooms, high ceilings, parkay floors but a modern bathroom! Wonderful breakfast and walking distance to many wonderful restaurants. We had wine in the back garden one evening. Excellent staff - thanks Frederik, ICE!!, and Eva.
