Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am very disappointed for the stay at Hotel Majestic because we didn’t get a welcome drink or anything in the room and the receptionist said because the room is cheap which wasn’t. I didn’t think the room was cheap with the old furniture. The room is so deceiving for the photo the hotel put on their website. They didn’t have a headboard and the photo painted on the wall looks like a headboard. The shower was broken despite telling the receptionist, which should have been mended and it didn’t and we have to use it as it was as the water spraying everywhere (Photo. Enclosed). Moreover, there was a man sleeping right outside our door in the middle of the day. We were in room 18 and part of his body was outside our door and we had to cross over his body to go out of the room. (Photo enclosed).we are an old couple who was very stressed out incase he wake up and had a knife and attacked us.

This hotel was booked for me as part of a package through railbookers. It has good reviews and is may be fine for adults but is not safe for kids. It was 37 degrees Celsius they have no ac my special needs infant and elderly parents were really struggling. We had rooms on the top floor and heat rises. They provided a tiny fan. We could not open the huge window because it had no screen and opened on to a steep ledge and my kids could fall out. The building is very old and the floor is uneven and the stairs tip down which was a fall hazard for my kids and parents. The elevator is not for the faint of heart. The window in the bathroom doesn’t shut properly hopefully that gets fixed before winter. There is a sign outside offering 49 euro a night rooms. You get what you pay for. My mom referred to it as a glorified hostel. We were book for 3 nights but left after one over safety concerns for the children. The staff was nice.

The reception staff were very accommodating, although there was a problem with the lift. The girl offered us a choice of other room. She and her colleague were very helpful and helped us with our luggage as I was struggling with it. The guy at the reception went over and beyond to help us get around and advised us on places we could buy things. We ran out of bus fare and needed to get our currency changed. But he was very kind and offered us the change for our bus fares which we then returned after we got back to the hotel from our journey. Great staff . Very helpful. And this makes a lot of difference. Great location. I would definitely go back. Thanks to the lovely staff who made a difference!

We are on a train leaving Lourdes and didn’t want to let this review slip by forgotten. We loved it here. The room, the most excellent breakfast, the friendly service and, of course, the price. Located very near the train station, and a short walk to the Grotto. Very convenient! I especially recommend the hotel and the visit to Lourdes to those at the beginning of their Camino walk; a great way to start the journey!

I loved the proximity of this little hotel to the bus station as well as to the Sanctuary. My room was clean, simply furnished and more than enough for my overnight needs. The staff was very helpful, the receptionist going out of his way to drive me to the bus station!

We couldn’t have asked for anything better for our stay in Lourdes. A wonderful peaceful hotel with old fashioned charm. Excellent continental breakfast of cereals, croissants, bread, ham, cheese, yoghurts and tea, coffee & juice. Easy to find and close to both the train station and the grotto, as well as the shops and restaurants. Very friendly staff who spoke excellent English. It is located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main grotto hotels and streets and I felt that was a distinct positive. Rooms are en-suite with a shower, tv with a few English news channels, great WiFi and very comfortable beds. I have absolutely no negatives about this hotel. I found the best deal booking direct via their website rather than the booking agents. It has a very competitive price compared to other hotels and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Majestic is part of a chain of older hotels by the Quatres group. At this one, they've done a good job of maintaining the essential elements of an older building while updating that which must be. The dining room still has the original French country tile floor and service antique furniture (except for the tables and chairs which are modern). The reception room has period furniture and the original reception desk. Staircase is original hardwood steps and bannister, with oriental rug runner. Room has original hardwood floors and antique wardrobe and desk. Instead of a head board on the bed, they've painted one in 3D relief that at first glance looks real. Window was replaced with café doors that allow access to a small SRO balcony with new 'old look' railing. So, good historic preservation. Bed and pillows are comfortable enough. No air conditioning, just a floor fan that's seen better days. One can hear one's neighbor's every move, including talking, snoring, hygiene, etc. Traffic on the street below is loud, but dies down at around 10 p.m., starting up again about 5 a.m. with the delivery trucks. Bath is modern and new, with tile walls and a shower that is less than 1 meter square. Small soap and shampoo are provided, but there is no soap dish in the shower. Breakfast is baguettes and croissants, with ham and prosciutto, cream cheese, yogurt, cereal etc. No eggs. Coffee is especially good. Good value overall for a night.
