We had a ground floor room for people with disabilities, (room no 100) it was a good room, small but clean and well decorated and the shower was excellent although water did leak all over the floor when you used the shower which would not be the best for someone with limited mobility. We had a dreadful night of little sleep as at about 3/3.30 in the morning some people seemed to have a party in the reception area near our room, playing music and talking loudly, this went on for about an hour. I did tell the receptionist in the morning. The breakfast was served in reception and, despite sitting there watching the guests the receptionist had to be asked to make coffee each time a new person came into the area, it wasn't volunteered. We bought from the receptionist, on arrival, a token for an underground car park, when we went to leave this did not work (why not??) and it took us a long time to organise exiting the car park. What with little sleep and being unable to get out of the car park we were left with very unhappy memories of this hotel. There is little point spending money on decorating a property if you don't spend it on enough well trained staff both to ensure the hotel is quiet during the night and that people are available to serve drinks and to sell properly working car park tokens. There are plenty of other hotels in Nimes.…
We booked this hotel at quite short notice and were more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It is situated in the centre of the city 10 minutes walk from almost everything. Although there is no lift the room was very clean and comfortable, as was the en-suite, and was cleaned every day. The staff were superb, friendly, kind and so helpful. The breakfast was a buffet style, eat as much as you want with a good selection, and set us up for the day ahead. The city is spectacular from the Roman era through to Napoleonic and to the present. The city is well served by restaurants and shops and much of the centre is pedestrianised. The hotel does not offer evening meals but the staff recommended a restaurant less than 50 metres away called the 'Les Folies Boucheres' which was amazing. The food was all locally sourced, beautifully cooked and presented and very well priced. We visited as many ruins as possible as well as travelling to the Pont du Gard and also the Camarque. We stayed for 4 nights and there is still so much to see. The hotel is great, well appointed, comfortable, central and not expensive. We really rate it and will return!…
The hotel was fine for a few nights stay. The place was clean and they use liquid soap dispensers in the shower and sink. When we used a booking website, it advertised it parking, but it was actually to use a discounted pass at the public parking down the road. It ended up being €14.50 for 2 nights. The WiFi did not work once connected. We didn’t buy breakfast but saw that it was primarily bread-based. Like I said, it was fine for a few nights but nothing to write home about.
Lovely central hotel.. very helpful staff. We had a gorgeous room with views on the third floor. You do need to be fit to climb the stairs to these rooms and it Could be a struggle to carry up heavy suitcases.
I spent 2 nights here earlier this month and was quite happy with my stay. The room was clean, large and comfortable and the location was great. Should I ever be in Nimes again, I would certainly be happy to stay here. Note that there is no elevator.
