Nestled near the majestic Versailles Palace, the Waldorf Astoria Versailles - Trianon Palace offers a picturesque park setting that has captivated its guests. The hotel's atmosphere and cleanliness receive high marks for their elegance and meticulousness, respectively.
While its range of amenities and spacious, comfortable rooms with great views are often praised, some guests suggest there's room to elevate modern conveniences and address maintenance issues. Despite the commendable service, opinions on value diverge, with some reviewers pointing to overpricing and additional charges.

I think most of the bad reviews come from folks booking the Pavilion building and not the main hotel. We just finished 3 wonderful days and have felt pampered from beginning to end. I’d booked a garden view (room #408) as it was cheaper, but could still see Versailles if I leaned out the balcony and we could enjoy the firework show from the palace for free. The complimentary macarons and wine were a surprise touch. The beds (actual king sized, not European king sized) and linens are lush, the Juliet balcony and French doors make the room feel even more spacious (thanks to the lady on TA that said the rooms on the 5th level are small as I’d originally booked up there). I loved having a separate toilet from the bathroom too. The outdoor areas are lovely, the patio is great people watching (I got to spy on John Malkovich getting interviewed), the restaurants are great but most importantly the staff are so nice and helpful, our housekeeper tidied our room so nicely twice a day I wish I could take her home.

We visited just for the weekend and what an amazing time it was.
The staff on reception were professional and welcoming, speaking a number of different languages, including English, as did all the staff we encountered during our stay. I was so thankful for this as I saw one of the reviews which stated an expectation to speak French, this was simply not the case for us.
We had a fabulous spacious 4th floor room on the park side with a small balcony. The bed was by far the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in so far and the slippers provided, a much better quality that those in other hotels and we have been to a fair few. The bathroom was great, but just a word of caution if having a soak in the tub as it’s very prone to slipping due to the shape. A rubber mat for inside the bath is provided for you to use.
Breakfast was a buffet only (no menu) and was very limited, although you can order a number of different egg dishes. There was just one chef and a bit of a queue. I don’t think this was unusual as there was a polite notice asking guests to come back once they have placed their order, which I did and maybe I shouldn’t have as it seemed that my order was then put on the back burner. I know this as I saw countless others guest getting their orders in and receiving their dishes before me. It’s only when I approached the station that the chef then went to get my order. The eggs Benedict received was ok but very close to being hard boiled and I prefer a runny yolk. The breakfast experience overall was ok, with staff being very polite when you asked them something, but this could have been better by them checking in to see if we had everything we needed, e.g. more coffee. I always think when it comes to hotels and indeed in life that ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ and so far this year we’ve had exceptional service at breakfast from the Westin Palace Madrid and a truly amazing buffet with options to order extra dishes at the Ritz Carlton in Vienna, both of which renewed my faith in the hotel breakfast experience, so I know more can be done here at this hotel.
We didn’t swim in the pool but it was a good size. The gym was amazing if you like like to keep your exercise up whilst away and the staff were very friendly.
A tip for guests wanting to visit Versailles Palace & gardens, get you tickets from the concierge if you haven’t booked in advance. Indeed we hadn’t booked in advance and there were no tickets on the website when looked, so we were so relieved when we asked the concierge about this.
One of the highlights of our stay has to be the view from our balcony at night of the Bastille fireworks, this was simply outstanding and totally unexpected, an experience which we aim to replicate next year and will return. Merci infiniment

This was an unforgettable trip that started here! We were greeted warmly at check-in and the staff went over and above to answer our questions (we had never been to France). The room was comfortable, shower had plenty of water pressure, and the bathroom floor was heated. Breakfast was the best we ever had at any Hilton property. The last night we ate at the onsite restaurant and had THE BEST lamb dish, ever! The flavor and tenderness was unbelievable. The concierge had a two-day pass to Versailles that was a better value than others, and it came with their knowledge of what to do. Coming back from Versailles the back way exited right at the Waldorf. If I could, I would give it 10 stars!!!

We came for a SPA and Tea Time day and it seems important to us to share certain remarks and comments which we have already discussed with the maître d' at the end of our experience.
To start with the SPA: overall positive experience, the masseuses we had were very competent and friendly (generally speaking no complaints about the staff). The premises, on the other hand, really deserve to be refreshed, the SPA is becoming really dated and is not at all up to the standards of a hotel that claims to be “Palace” (missing tiles, traces of humidity and cracks on the walls, dirty windows, white plastic bench from another age in the hammam, tea available but served in paper cups which therefore become soft and boiling, very cheap white curtains strewn throughout the SPA). The overall impression is far from luxurious.
Regarding Tea time: we had reserved a table for 5 p.m. When we arrive at the scheduled time, we are told that there is no more room and that we must wait for a table to become available, knowing that another table must be placed before us. To our astonishment, they explained to us that the reservation for Tea time does not guarantee a table at the scheduled time... We therefore waited around twenty minutes in the corridor/lobby, before someone finally came to tell us that a table became available… in this same corridor. We therefore ask to be placed in the living room, even if it means waiting a little longer. The atmosphere of the living room is already more cozy than that of the corridor despite its confined side and which lacks natural light. We are finally assigned a table, we order two hot chocolates (supplement of €7/person, in addition to the €49/person for Tea time). When the food arrives, we are very surprised by the difference in portion between the sweet (3 “normal” size pastries for a Tea time) and the savory (three tiny cocktail-style bites). We expressed our disappointment to the pastry sous chef when paying, who told us that it was unfortunately impossible to increase the size of the portions without "unbalancing the flavors"... Furthermore, there were no more scones at the when we ordered (a shame not to provide enough scones for customers who booked Tea time). In short, the services and setting offered by this supposedly luxury hotel are really not up to par, and you will find excellent snacks and tea time for a much better quality/price ratio in the region.

We stayed for 4 nights as a family, the hotel is like a French chateau nestled right next to the Gardens of Versailles. You will feel like a royal staying here. It is also a short 10-min walk away from a pleasant town with many shops and bakeries. As a family, we enjoyed this quaint peaceful town moreso than the bustling streets of Paris.
Some points of improvement: - In our first room, the shower did not drain, the water temperature adjustment was not working, and the espresso machine was broken. This may be due to the age of the building. The second room we got was fine.
- Breakfast was nice in an elegant setting. However, it was quite pastry-heavy (perhaps in French style). I can only eat so many croissants and sweet breads. I would've preferred a greater selection of meats or local specialties. Moreover, there was no self-serve coffee nor milk, so every cup had to be individually requested when waiters were sometimes busy. The coffee was all espresso style, whereas I prefer filter drip. On one occasion, a staff helped me get a boiled egg for breakfast, but dropped it on the counter. He continued to dabble it into my plate, to my bewilderment. I did not eat that egg.
- The restaurants on-premise are all very high-brow. Gordon Ramsay did not have a childs menu, so we ate at La Veranda one night which was delicious. However, the final bill for 3 totaled €250. Some nights we just ate cereal in the room with the child because there was no casual dining nearby.
- On checkout, we noticed many false charges from the mini-bar. Apparently, they use a "high-tech" minibar which checks for anything moved automatically. We moved items frequently due to storing our own drinks in the hotel fridge, so one must be vigilant of the bill. There was also a €10/person city tax, which was a bit of a surprise despite booking with points.
These are all minor however. Overall we had a great stay feeling like royals in this peaceful town by the gardens. Would stay here again.

First, it gives me no pleasure to provide only 1-star. I was looking forward to this 3-night stay, during which we spent $$$ between the room and the Michelin-star restaurant. We stayed in room 409 (4th floor), and the floor smelled musty, as did our room (I'll note that in the winter the weather is wet but management should account for that by adding scent diffusion for example). The shower smelled like sewage on the second day so we had to call the reception so they could add a liquid to neutralize the smell down the drain. Additionally, after our first night, the housekeeping staff forgot to lock the room linked to 405 where our parents had stayed the night before which meant that the next guest could have easily entered our living room and our suite. On our second night, the guest next door (room 405) smoked a cigar and the smell penetrated our entire suite. I had to call the reception and the security guard came to my room to confirm that the smell was from smoking next door. Consequently, we had to close our living room door to block the smell for the rest of our stay. The next morning, I didn't even receive a note or a call from management apologizing and offering to make it right back compensating the room or providing a discount (something I would expect from a 5-star hotel). I was the one who had to proactively go to the reception in the morning to ask if this issue was taken care of. They said yes, but again, I didn't receive anything from them and the rest of our stay was limited to just our room and not the living room. In summary, this felt more like a glorified Double Tree Hilton stay than a Waldorf. From the musty smell to the lack of professionalism from the staff their lack of attention and making the situation right (by being pro-active), left me and my wife feeling beyond disappointed.

Everything is shabby, in the room, an armchair for two, view of the park.. not at all, you have to lean over and look to the right to see a piece of park, building torn to pieces, cold, TV neither canal nor netflix, and which takes 30 years to change channel, a palace 5 stars.. never of life, it looks like they are moving.. no furniture or decor.. 800 euros per night in a deluxe room breakfast overlooking the park we will iron.. and the wardrobes must date from the 80s.. Top bedding and cleanliness too No samples, only big cans to shower, if dirty more... No extra pillows .. no standing Warm and professional welcome The Guide a total scam, 1550 euros to visit the castle has two in the morning in 2h30 and 500 euros to visit the park 2h l afternoon..by golf cart Gordon picks up very well, but the room is ugly and cold and the service too fast, so could not eat the dish, because we swallowed everything too quickly and the towel to wipe hands which is normally a disposable towel, was full of red to raise.. The veranda, not good at all.. Wedding anniversary a candle placed on a dish with two cute ones, it was ridiculous, it was better to do nothing Bouquet of flowers in the room rt petals on the bed, nice and bottle of red offered, low-end of course Never again in this hotel, to flee, and the poolside welcome in the 1900s too Very decue

The "bistro" of the "Waldorf Trianon Palace" offers you Snacking (translated into French: simplified dishes, quickly served), at a price worthy of a starred restaurant!!! The bill is very high, and the plate is miserable. Agreed proposals, standard burgers, very poorly cooked chicken or beef, equally disastrous fries. Wow! What innovation. Vegan burger. Inedible! Roborative sauce, stifling Christian content, tasteless taste. Octopus starter. Sure that you won't have indigestion considering the little on the plate (I'm always talking about the price), six slices of octopus having spent a good time in the refrigerator, identical to the potatoes which 'accompany. In short, you will have understood, TO FLEE!!! Flashy tourist trap. Too bad, because a few years ago it was really good. But why did Simone Zanoni leave??.....Ah yes, I know, to go cook at GEORGE V!

While being a wonderfully looking Hotel I feel the Waldorf really needs to up its game at nearly £300 per night I have stayed In equivalent or if not better 3* establishments. We were in the pavilion which you would expect to also have a good view but sadly this was two broken trampolines and a dilapidated children’s swing. In 2024 all hotels should have USB ports in the room or plugs at the side of the bed to enable charging. The hotel offer breakfast in you room yet there is only one chair and desk space. A better use of the sofa space would be a small table and two chairs. Tea, coffee and water were not replenished daily and for the price you would assume this as standard. Lamp was broken at the side of the TV and the bathroom was purely functional but would have expected better for a hotel of this stature. The access to the palace gardens is what you really pay for with this hotel and I what I believe it is surviving on. If you are booking here try to get a palace room rather than a pavilion as it is a glorified conference facility not the hotel as seen in the photos.
