Tucked away on a quiet street in Montmartre, you really need to follow directions carefully to locate this hotel. Once you do, it's a gem! Quite unique, and a lovely place to have a drink at the bar. Very different from the rest of the tourist-y neighborhood.

We last visited this hotel 8 years ago just after it opened and had a memorable stay. We should not have returned! The rooms are now very shabby and desperately need upgrading. The largest room on the third floor has no fire escape and we felt distinctly uncomfortable. All of the investment has gone into the new restaurant and bar/club...

A lovely facade suggesting a beautiful old building but the interiors are shabby and our deluxe suite was more like cross between a teenager's bedroom and a seedy nightclub with grubby black painted walls in the loo and insufficient lighting. It is a conversion of the attic space with only skylights, the roof timbers creak and crack all night and...

Plus Wonderful location and attractive building. Minus Chaotic. On arrival we were offered a drink in the garden but all the garden furniture had either bird droppings or fallen tree seed or both liberally sprinkled all over. After cleaning a couple of seats we waited 20 mins for a drink. Things got worse. The aircon didn't work until the last...

we were really looking forward to this hotel. it is on many hotel sites that i subscribe to. however as of 2 months ago they have opened a nightclub/bar in the basement level, which they employ a DJ to play until 2.30am Thurs, fri, sat nights. the noise of bass penetrates up the liftwell to all of the 6 rooms. i could...

I booked a birthday event there, and the hotel changed the prix fixe menu without advising me, going from a 3 course warm meal to mediocre sandwiches, all while charging me the same price. Basically fraudulent. Plus the service was horrendous. The location is cute though, albeit touristy.

Positives: - Good Location - Friendly (if not slightly disorganised) Staff - Lovely Building - Cool (if not overly dark) Decor Negatives: - During the course of a two night stay, the room was changed due to an error (what exactly the error was, we may never know as the stock answer from anyone working in the hotel was, "I...

We stayed in Vitrine over the Easter weekend. The hammam is out of commission and has been for some time, although no-one had informed us of that. Highs: quirky and stylish, beautiful position, lovely part of town, lovely shower and Nuxe products in the roomy bathroom, the clank of Petanque and good-humoured remonstrations, comfy bed and linen, snuggly robes; obliging,...

This hotel took my deposit and failed to return it even though I cancelled my reservation timely in accord with the cancellation policy. They failed to respond at all to an American Express inquiry and were weak in communication with me about the matter.

What a delightful stay my husband and I had at the Hotel Particulier! Such a treasure hidden in a quiet neighborhood. The hotel is quite charming, with very unique and elegant decor. We enjoyed their beautiful gardens for cocktails, dinner, breakfast, or just taking a break. Quiet during the day, this is a hot spot for dinner! The entire staff...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.

“Our room was fab but as they're all different styles make sure you know where you're staying beforehand - it's a lot of money to spend if you don't like the wallpaper! I would imagine the ones facing front are lovely as the sun hits that wall (west facing?) and the flowery room looks great”
