Overall excellent experience. Staff are English proficient. They also held are bags during our transfer time. The one draw back is that they advertise having heating and air conditioning. They did not have these during our stay. Our room had a non operational thermostat that the technician said needed a new part. I have asthma so clean air is important. We had to open the window to get air circulation and this meant the noise and cigarette smoke from outside came in the room.

Dear dmlail42, It is a real pleasure to read your very comprehensive review following your stay at the Relais des Halles, your words are very pleasant, and above all to know that overall it was an excellent experience for you. Indeed, we are committed to being available as best as possible during your stay and being able to respond to your requests. It is true that the thermostat was capricious during your stay, we are still sorry, as it was, this has since been repaired. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again during a future stay in Paris. Kind regards, Eloise

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights. We arrived slightly early for check in and asked if they would hold our bags. Luckily our room was ready so they checked us in early which was fab! When we got to our room we were not disappointed. The room was light and had lots of space for the two of us. The bathroom was spotless- I’m very picky with bathrooms and I could not find one fault. You are even provided with a pot full of ear plugs, cotton buds and any little extra you may have forgotten to bring. There is even a shower puff provided! It’s the small touches that make a hotel feel welcoming. There was a Bluetooth speaker, an iPad, kettle and a mini fridge with a mini bar available. The staff were friendly and always offered us bottles of water for our days out. Our room was topped up with two bottles of water each day.
The area is perfect. It’s located 2 minutes (if that) from the metro and is in the middle of a shopping area with lots of cafes around. 5 minutes down the road we found a restaurant that serves frogs legs and snails- we had to try them!
At night it can get loud giving the hotels location, we were occasionally woken up with loud bangs each night but considering it’s location it’s a given that this would happen. The hotels facilities and staff well and truly made up for it! I very rarely give 5 stars but this hotel was amazing!

Overall we really enjoyed staying at Le Relais des Halles for the week that we were in Paris. I really loved the size of the rooms and the free pocket wifi that the hotel provided, as well as the price point and location of the hotel. The drawbacks were that the room faintly smelled like cigarettes, it was a non-smoking room but I think that the walls were thin next to the building beside the hotel, or smoking from the street below wafted up. It was enough to make me feel sick a few times. Also, the hotel room was stifling hot at night, and we had to sleep with the windows open, which led to noise at all times of the night in our room. The hotel is located on a very busy street, which is great, but it is noisy until about 2 or 3 am most nights. One morning I woke up at about 6 AM because there was either a line right down below our window for Black Friday weekend, or there was a protest about to start up. I could not go back to sleep because of the noise, we could hear it even with the windows closed. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel and amenities offered, and we enjoyed staying here for our first trip to France, however, the noise/heat/smoke smell would deter me from staying a second time around. Concierge, while very friendly, also does not speak much English, and my French is terrible, so communication was a bit tough when the English speaking manager is not present.

I brought my wife to Paris for her 40th birthday and we stayed in the Relais Des Halles. The location of this hotel is possibly the best you could wish for in Paris with Les Halles and Étienne Marcel metro stations within 3-5 minutes walk and the RER from CDG airport stopping in Les Halles. The room is very well appointed with tea & coffee making facilities, a fully stocked mini bar, safe and wardrobe, well sized en-suite and television. The hotel has a lift and restaurant, although we did not use the restaurant ourselves. The room, and hotel in general, is very clean and well presented and the staff are friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend the Relais Des Halles and will definitely stay there again if/when we return to the wonderful city.

+1
I spent 5 nights in Relais Hotel des Halles in October. The location is great - 2 blocks from Les Halles shopping center and metro/ RER, 1 block from metro stop Etienne Marcel, and 3-4 blocks from Rue Montergueil. There is a Monoprix and an Orange store 2 blocks away. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. The room was very nice on the first floor, accessed by stairs and elevator, and the bathroom was great (see pictures). They provide all of the sundries - soap (bar & liquid), shampoo and conditioner, lotion, bath salts, washclothes, shaving kit, toothbrush, and more. They provide ample free bottled water. The weather was warm so the in room thermostat and air conditioning worked well. I really enjoyed my stay and would gladly stay here again.

Dear billygoat7, What a pleasant pleasure to read that you had a wonderful 5-night stay at the Relais des Halles. Indeed, we are lucky to be right in the center of Paris and as you mentioned, it is not far from rue Montergueil which is very popular for its many shops and restaurants. We also thank you for your words regarding the staff as well as the comfort of your room. We look forward to welcoming you again. Sincerely, Eloise

Very happy with my stay at the Relais des Halles. The location is truly exceptional, with easy access to the sights on foot or via subway, and to the airport via RER train. Neighborhood is very lively, and I felt very safe walking alone at night. My room was tiny but very well appointed and charming. The bathroom was large and well equipped, with great water pressure. Closet capacity was very good. What really caught my attention were the in-room amenities: a powerful stand-alone hair dryer, good quality toiletries, an expresso machine and electric kettle with plenty of supplies. Breakfast was yummy if a bit pricy.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our trip to France, and I wish we'd stayed here for the first six nights we were in Paris! The location was ideal, very close to metro stops, restaurants, boulangeries. Centre Pompidou is around the corner, and Place des Vosges is a pleasant walk away. The hotel itself was well-appointed (both public spaces and room). We could not have asked for a better room. The room was large and quite comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious! It was large enough for both of us to get ready at the same time; the shower had great water pressure; there was a bathtub; and the toilet had a bidet function. The bed was comfortable and we had plenty of pillows. The room was stocked with coffee pods, Nespresso machine, kettle, and tea. The front desk staff offered us chocolates whenever we came in. There were convenient outlets on either side of the bed and at the desk in the room, which made it easy to charge phones/tablets overnight. Staff was very helpful and arranged an early taxi to the airport for us. I really wish we could have stayed longer.
Rue Rambuteau (around the corner) was a pleasant walk where we found restaurants, markets, patisseries, and boulangeries. I cringe to say that my wife even found a Starbucks.

Dear DY-1979, first of all, thank you very much for this laudatory and very complete comment. Reading your words and knowing that you had a luxurious experience is a great reward. We too would have liked to welcome you longer, it is a pleasure to know that not only the comfort of your room but also the very central location of the hotel allowed you to make the most of these two days with us. It is true that we like to add all possible comfort by decorating our rooms with little extras such as a Nespresso machine, iron or very good chocolates at reception. We would be very happy to see you again perhaps on a future return to Paris. Kind regards, Eloise

Whilst the Le Relais des Halles is only rated 3 star we found our stay to be 5 star. Location is fabulous in the heart of Paris. The rooms were spacious in terms of Paris location, cleanliness was exceptional, amenities first class, breakfast was delicious and fresh and the staff could not be more accommodating. In particular - the front desk where we would like to thank Mr Romar who went above and beyond expectations in assisting us from sharing local knowledge, organizing tickets and helping coordinate transport during the strike. I could not recommend highly enough.

This hotel was perfectly placed for us to get from Gare du Nord to the everywhere that we wanted to go. I looked back at the previous reviews and copy and pasted the route that people took from exiting the Eurostar and they are very accurate and easy to locate the hotel then. The staff were very accommodating and our room was well appointed and we didn't really have too much noise from outside. The breakfast offering was nice enough to get you started for the day , we were only there for one night and we had a tour collecting us early otherwise its our preference to eat breakfast in a café and really get the full effect of where we are.

Dear Ex-Hostie, We are delighted to read that you had a very good stay at the Relais des Halles, thank you very much for your comment. It's absolutely true, thanks to the nearby metro and its direct line, there are about 10 minutes between the Gare du Nord (eurostar) and our hotel. It makes us happy to know that the staff but also the breakfast service allowed you to have a good time and enjoyed the whole stay. We hope to see you again soon. Sincerely, Eloise

Hotel is very close to many of restaurants, shops, metro stations and a Westfield Shopping Mall. We walked to Notre Dame, Louvre and Champes Elysees. Rooms were on the small side, with a closet, a desk and of couple chairs. We had a corner room and on the weekends you could hear noise from nearby restaurants, till late. We got used to it after the 1st night. Nice size bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Eggs cooked to order. Just ask.Bathroom cleanliness a 9.

Not sure we're talking about the same room but we; my wife and I stayed at a room at or near the top. It was very on all scores. A little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights as the local bars tended to be quite busy and vocal. We weren't bound by a schedule so we were OK with it. The location itself is spectacular; walking distance to much of the best socializing in Paris and near a major subway station/ shopping center. We loved it.
No, I do not recall seeing any microwaves. In our room there was a water boiler and an espresso machine, very nice.
Hi. We did not have bathrobes in our room when we were there in July. Not sure if you can request or not. P.S. if you can you may want to ask if street construction is done as noise, dirt and access was tough when we were there.
Yes, we stayed in the double room on the ground floor. We had no issues whatsoever. Didn’t hear any noise from the street or from the lobby. Decent size (for European standards) and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, too. It even had a bidet built into the toilet.
