We really enjoyed our week in Paris and this hotel was very good. A Cozy, small boutique hotel with nice clean rooms and rather big rooms compared to other hotels in Paris. Super friendly and helpfull staff in the reception and also the men at the breakfast made us feel like we were at home. Situated right next to Le...

Great spacious room in the hotel, staff were great ordering taxis when er needed and giving advice when we asked, very friendly, the room by Paris standards was huge with lots of space and a bath, not just a shower, we stayed 2 nights and had a great sleep both nights, only one downside which is not really an issue...

Stayed here for 3 nights in late February. Location is good - close to two metro stops, with some good cafes and patisseries nearby, and Le Bon Marche is half a block away. The room is quite big for the city - with the bathroom being spacious with an odd glass door that is more suitable in a commercial setting....

Le Placide has a wonderful location and they seemed to anticipate our every need with the room amenities. It was clean and tidy and fresh in appearance. We felt very welcome and would recommend it to anyone. We would definitely stay there on our next trip to Paris. The building was old and quaint, but wonderfully modern at the same...

Stayed at Le placide for 6 nights in January 2017. Location is wonderful! 2 metro stops near the hotel. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable hotel staff. The room was warm and welcoming especially after a day of sightseeing in the cold. Looking forward to my next visit to Paris and returning to Le Placide.

We recently stayed for 2 nights at Le Placide over Christmas traveling with a 4 year old. The location is terrific for the 6th, near metro, buses and shops; and yet still quiet at night for central...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
