the adagio is well situated close to the Metro, grocery, restaurants, laundry facilities and a few bakeries for those fresh Baquettes and Croissants.the staff in general is very friendly but one young lady was sullen unhelpful and obviously didn't like her job. The maid service didn't exist and clean linen was supplied only on a weekly basis and the room...

I read numerous reviews for this aparthotel before travelling and have to say I was a bit dubious about it. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Our room (501) was clean, spacious and had a great view from the window. 4 of us stayed for 3 nights in June and whilst air conditioning would have been a nice addition, an open...

The room was large and the hotel is near a metro station. The shower head was so filthy that I did not shower during the 7 days that I stayed there! There is no room service for those who stay over 4 days (except for an extra 80 euros) and yet that is precisely when one needs room service. There...

The hotel is not bad (near the metro, supermarket and quiet) but they don't have room service and if you stayed their for 7 nights, your room will not be cleaned unless you pay 80 euros. The staff are friendly but they don't keep their words/promise to their client. I forgot my wedding ring in our room hotel (Rm 405)....

Stayed 5 nights with children. 2 mins to subway station. Very few places to eat. But there is a small supershop & a awesome bakery. We found a japanese restaurant next to subway station. Yhe food was out of this world. Noodle & rice/chicken was BEST. Room was ready for us. Staff helpful. We did not eat breakfast there. Not...

Located 2 minutes from the subway (line 2, Philip Auguste) in a lively non-tourist area (a little poor), adjacent to Pere Lachaise. My room had a view on the cemetery, an odd view when you just wake up. The hotel has apartments which are big and have a little kitchen and a separate bedroom. The hotel is a little bit...

Stayed with my family for a week. The room was quite big, considering the average in Paris. Restaurants, brasserie, bakery and minimarkets are just a few steps far from this hotel. The quarter is very silent and safe. The Pere Lachaise cemetery can be seen from the windows of the hotel. I suggest this hotel especially to families looking for...

We had a room with a kitchenette - it's very convenient. One square meter include stove, microwave, sink and a full set of utensil. It was very easy and enjoyable to cook our own dinner. The room is spacious, with a comfortable table, two chairs and a large bed. Small bathroom (it was inconvenient to open the door). Very courteous...

We stayed here for five nights in October 2013 and were very happy with our studio room. There was adequate space, a nice kitchen corner, and a dining table. The staff were very helpful and the hotel is just a block from the Metro station. It is some distance from the city center, but the Paris Metro gets you almost...

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.

“Seek a room overlooking the street and/or Pere Lachaise rather than the courtyard. However, someone in an apartment across the street likes to party late on Friday night so can't sleep with windows open that evening! Bring a roll of paper towels and buy or bring your coffee, filters and sweetener. Also, no cups are provided. Their at-home method is to drink coffee from a bowl, which we too did. Bring a washcloth if you want one.”
